Lisa Hamler-Fugitt, executive director for the Ohio Association of Foodbanks, slammed the Republican/Trump Tax Scam in a release last week, saying the giveaway to multinational corporations will only lead to more pain for Ohio’s hungriest and most vulnerable citizens.

“Early Saturday morning, the Senate completed its rushed tax ‘reform’ process, coming up with just enough votes to pass a bill that will spell short- and long-term harm for low- and middle-income Ohio families,” Hamler-Fugitt said in a news release.

Former Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Governor of Ohio Tuesday morning at a diner in his hometown of Grove City.

“I’m running for Governor to make things fairer for Ohio families, to finally create a system that works for every one of us,” Cordray said in a video to supporters featuring former President Barack Obama and U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Cordray recently stepped down from his position as Director of the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which was widely taken as a sign that he would announce his candidacy for Ohio governor.
