“I have a sworn duty to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law. I must vote to impeach.” Believe it or not, those words are from Ohio Senator Rob Portman about the impeachment of another president.Full Story... →
Mike DeWine has lied his way through every single step of his gubernatorial campaign. The Republican candidate for governor in Ohio is the latest in a long line of GOP officials who will shamelessly lie, cheat and steal to gain power by any means necessary.
Combing through the lengthy archives of Politifact or the Columbus Dispatch’s AdWatch reveals just how often DeWine outright lies to or misleads Ohio’s voters. In all honesty, it’s difficult to keep track of how often DeWine lies to our faces, but here’s my best effort.
DeWine’s been labeled as “pulling info from […]Full Story... →
This column is premised on a truth I’ve discovered over nearly forty years of practicing law and working in politics. Conservatives are weak. They lack the self-discipline to grasp what conservatism actually means and if they actually understood the doctrine, they wouldn’t believe in it. Donald Trump has destroyed what little that remained of conservatism. Liberals are now responsible for the future of the United States.
July 16, 2018, brought America to a turning point. No American will ever again be able to honestly defend Donald Trump. Trump publicly took sides against the United States by believing that Vladimir Putin […]Full Story... →
Putting his father’s presidency in jeopardy, Donald Trump, Jr. has opened a door that can’t be shut. I still think President Trump will resign by the end of this year (see my post of May 18) and for the same reason.
He doesn’t want the American people to know about his business dealings with Russia. He now knows, or at least should know, that Independent Counsel Robert Mueller will investigate those transactions. How will we get from here to there? There is no sure way to predict, but that’s what makes prediction fun.
There is no […]Full Story... →
As folks on the left lick their wounds and pick up the pieces from the dumbest election ever, they’re understandably looking for bright sides. And there are a few — some important local tax levies passed in Ohio, medical and recreational marijuana was legalized in six more states and the Democrats are rebuilding to become more progressive and reflective of working people’s needs. However, there’s another sweet treat hidden amongst the negatives of 2016, one that stands out more than the rest for us here at Plunderbund — by the end of 2018, John Kasich’s political career will be dead.

As written about here on Plunderbund and elsewhere, this week Donald Trump’s incompetence and arrogance were both on full bombastic, sputtering and sniffling display for all of America to see at the first presidential debate between the businessman and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Trump’s debate performance was what he himself would likely refer to as a “disaster” — since he calls so many of the “problems” in this country “disasters” — and he wouldn’t be wrong if he did.
Even John Podhoretz of the New York Post wrote that,”By the time the last 15 minutes rolled around, [Trump] was […]Full Story... →
