A New Letter From The NEO Media Group, And A Short Lesson On The Streisand Effect
You never know what you’ll find when you open up your letterbox tomorrow…
Today, for example, we found a letter from the Northeast Ohio Media Group, AKA the Cleveland Plain Dealer, again insisting we take down a short video clip from NEO Media Group’s editorial interview with John Kasich and Ed FitzGerald. The entire video had originally been posted online, but was mysteriously and abruptly taken down. NEO Media Group has so far provided no information as to why the video was removed.
Like the email we received earlier this week, the letter was sent by Chris Quinn, VP of Content for the PD. We are guessing that Mr. Quinn was unfamiliar with the phenomenon known as the Streisand Effect when he dropped the letter in the mail.
No doubt he is quite familiar with it now, with national blogs and news sites like Talking Points Memo, Joe Romenesko, Wonkette, Think Progress and Rachel Maddow now covering the disappearing video, posting clips of it online, and discussing the Governor’s embarrassing behavior and refusal to answer questions about why he put a gag order on rape crisis counselors.
A video containing clips of Kasich’s childish behavior and his non-answer response to the gag order question is below.
