Great news. My neighborhood is one of those places where folks mobilize when it really matters.? This is the third time that Tremont School has been on a closing list from the Cleveland School Board, and the third time that Tremonters mobilized to get it off the list successfully.

Heads up, this is a hyper local post about an issue facing my home neighborhood of Tremont. ?The Cleveland Municipal School District (CMSD) is planning to close 18 school buildings at the end of this school year, one of them, Tremont School, is in the heart of my hood, and in my county council District 7. ?More after the jump.

Living in Tremont, you get a view of the steel mills, and the empty fields and dead plants that used to be steel mills. ?One mill remains, the ArcelorMittal plant. ?It has a checkered environmental record, but when it runs, it employs over 1,000 Clevelanders.
