The Associated Press, and local Cincinnati media has confirmed, that State Representative Bob Mecklenborg has announced his intention to resign office, effective August 2.
Mecklenborg was arrested back in April for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after midnight on Good Friday. He reportedly failed all three field sobriety tests. A blood test taken by the Indiana State Police detected alcohol levels above the legal limits as well as the presence of Viagra.
According to the Indiana State Police report concerning the incident, a young woman, who was not Mecklenborg’s wife, was a passenger in the car […]Full Story... →
Several of you, and us included, had been wondering why Mecklenborg’s car had temporary Kentucky tags (it was a 2004 Lexus with a broken headlight.)
Perhaps, the reason the answer alluded us is that we assumed too much.
Here’s what we know for sure:
Mecklenborg has an Ohio drivers’ license (that appeared to have been expired at the time of his arrest.) He was driving a vehicle with a temporary tag issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. His passenger, Tiona Roberts, produced to the officer a Kentucky drivers’ license.
So, other than the fact that he was the driver, what […]Full Story... →
Give the guys at Weapons of Mass Discussion credit, they’re willing to go where Speaker Batchelder and the rest of the GOP won’t.
In separate posts, contributors Matt Hurley and Mark publicly call for State Representative Mecklenborg to resign. Hurley appears particularly offended by Speaker Batchelder’s weak statement this evening:
These "responses" are weak. Whatever happened to "zero-tolerance"?
Yeah, GOP Chairman Kevin DeWine, what ever happened to “zero-tolerance?”
After his election as chairman, he introduced a 10-point strategy, called the Leading Ohio Plan, designed to center the Ohio Republican Party’s political resurgence on a set of […]Full Story... →
The following statement is permitted for republication and attribution on behalf of Plunderbund Media, LLC, an Ohio limited liability company and in response to Speaker Batchelder’s statement concerning State Representative Mecklenborg (R-Green Township):
“On behalf of Plunderbund, we share the Speaker’s sympathies to the pain, embarrassment and humiliation that State Representative Mecklenborg’s wife, children, and the rest of his family may be suffering right now. However, this is not, as the Speaker suggested, a ‘situation’ that is happening. This is something that is the direct consequence of the Representative’s alleged actions and behavior. If the Speaker and Representative Mecklenborg […]Full Story... →
WLWT Channel 5 in Cincinnati admits they’ve been trying to track down whether Mecklenborg’s female passenger was a female stripper at a nearby gentleman’s club:
WLWT has been working to confirm reports that the woman works as a stripper at a club in Lawrenceburg. No one at the club would confirm her employment, but an employee at the club told WLWT they would pass along a message to her. (emphasis added.) Um…. if she doesn’t work there, how do you know you can give her a message?!? Meanwhile, WLWT reports that Mecklenborg has issued a new statement tonight that […]Full Story... →
We’ve obtained a copy the arrest record of State Representative Mecklenborg that I wrote about earlier tonight.
There’s just one new question raised by these documents:
Why was a woman named “Tiona Roberts” a passenger in the State Representative’s car while he was drunk with Viagra in his system after midnight on a Friday night in Indiana?!?
Drip, drip, drip….Full Story... →
That headline there is factually correct – an Oregon DA has dropped felony charges against two people who were slapping 13 year old girls’ asses. But there’s a twist – the persons charged (now with misdemeanor sexual assault) are 13 year old boys. (If you read the link, you’ll get their names, but they are minors, and I don’t feel comfortable publishing their names, so I’ve edited appropriately.)
[name redacted] and [name redacted], both 13, were arrested in February after they were caught in the halls of Patton Middle School, in McMinnville, Ore., slapping girls on the rear end. […]Full Story... →
First is was Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) showing up on the phone list of the D.C. Madam.
Then it was Florida State Rep. Bob Allen’s arrest yesterday “at a park after offering to perform a sex act on an undercover officer in exchange for $20.”
But that seems to be just the begining…
Jerid over at BSB has started an investigation into the Ohio GOP’s DC Madam Connection and he’s finding lots of numbers from Ohio!
Florida State Rep. Bob Allen refuses to talk to the media on July 11, 2007 after bonding out of Brevard County […]Full Story... →
