American Flag as Metaphor

The McCain campaign is un-American. They drag the American flag on the ground after a rally. Not just any American flag, but a ginormous American flag. Their treatment of this flag is despicable and violates rules of handling for our beloved red, white, and blue. Simply horrifying is the following video:

Did I say “here come the bastards”? Maybe I should have also said here come the bitches. Palin begins the ugly by making the following comment:

“Our opponent though, is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country.”

Speaking to veterans today Obama calls on McCain to acknowledge his American patriotism:

But one of the things that we have to change in this country is the idea that people can’t disagree without challenging each other’s character and patriotism. I just got an email from John McCain. It’s an urgent plea for contributions before the end of the month.

The reason is obvious: McCain has accepted matching funds and can’t take any more contributions after that.

The letter makes it sound like he is accepting matching funds because of some promise he made. The truth, of course, is he is such a poor candidate that he can’t even raise enough money from his own party to run a viable campaign.

But that doesn’t stop him from running with garbage like this…
