Been on the road, coming back up for air, and the first post I went to this morning to re-engage in the Ohiosphere is this John Husted ad of PANIC, which Eric aptly describes as follows.

Fuck me. It’s like they ‘re playing Tea Party Yahtzee. Just toss some wingnuttery in a cup, shake, and out comes a commercial. “Stop immoral government debt to protect our children’s liberty”? LOLWTF

Actually, this is quite a historic ad.? I’m pretty sure this is the first political ad in the history of American political ads to open with a “Don’t Tread […]

The Dayton Daily News story I wrote about yesterday was later edited to revise the quote from Husted’s campaign spokesman from indicating that the campaign was still decided whether to attend to a definite no.

However, the Dayton Daily News edited the story without noting that the Husted campaign quote was an update or what the Husted campaign had said about the event just a few days ago.

I’m guessing Jon Husted blew a gasket and swore up and down that he wasn’t going and forced them to report it without noting the change in position.

The media coverage of the 3C intrastate rail system has been downright neglectful.?

Today, the Dayton Daily News reports that the vote in front of the State Controlling Board is in jeopardy because no Republicans have expressed a willingness to support releasing funds for a study of the plan.? Not actually implementing the plan, mind you, but a feasibility study of the plan.? Why?? Because these legislators who have held no hearings on the topic have concluded that its not feasible, even though many of those politicians were more than perfectly willing to support the plan until this […]

Modern calls me on the phone whenever he has something REALLY good he’s about to blog.? Modern called me about this.? Thank you, Modern, for making my day.? I have since been glued to the various internet writings of one Sonny Thomas – John Husted’s newest BFF.? Sonny tweeted this about hispanics the other day.

…which got Republican State Senate candidate and Springboro Tea Party endorsed fellow wingnut teabagging queen Shannon Jones running for the hills…..but not John Husted!

Last week, Sen. Jon Husted, R-Kettering, a candidate for Ohio Secretary of State, was weighing whether to attend […]

So, apparently, the Ohio GOP?is going full force to specifically support Jon Husted and David Yost, despite the fact that they face Tea Party favored candidates (Sandra O’Brien and freshman State Rep. Seth Morgan, respectfully.)

What’s funny about this mailer is that “most conservative state budget in more than 40 years?”? Yeah… that was Governor Strickland’s first budget.? Does this mean the ORP endorses Ted Strickland?? Nope, Kasich’s on the other side.? Partisan politics is SOOOO confusing.

In other news, somehow I got on the ORP’s mailing list. (Which is probably being corrected in 3… 2…. 1….)

We […]

I’m going to give you a Madden playbook why John Kasich’s courtship of State Auditor Mary Taylor makes no sense for anyone but John Kasich.? But let’s start with the most obvious point: it is absolute insanity for the Republicans to risk the only Apportionment Board seat they held in 2006 by moving an incumbent who was on track for a relatively safe re-election so that she can run for the non-essentially (from both a political and governing sense) Lt. Governor slot.

It’s is amazingly insane.? Second, if it were a done deal, Kasich wouldn’t first float it through Jon […]

Why is Jon Husted waging War on Christmas? First he gets busted using the corporate jets of lobbyists to jet off family and friends on fishing trips and bowl games. Then he can’t remember where the hell it is he actually lives. Now he’s waging War on Christmas?

Happy Holidays??? warmth and joy of the HOLIDAY season???

WTF Jon. You a commie? Peace and love???

Are you serious Jon? Jesus. Hah. Yes. JESUS. You don’t mention Jesus at all and only a passing reference to his father. Pagan trees and wrapped gifts. No mention of CHRISTMAS. No […]

Kudos to Speaker Husted

On May 21, 2007 By

John Husted does the right thing. He wants more control over statehouse opening session prayers and ordered full implementation of a system of prior prayer review. Good job John. Thanks for this. Since Reverend Keith Hamblen’s abuse of the rule and shameful promotion of his religion in the public sphere, the House Leader is being forced to tighten the screws a bit.

I’m sure he’ll get flack from the so-called Christian Right, but this is something the speaker knows he has to do. Hamblen gave him an easy out. It would have taken more political courage to do it […]
