Multiple national media outlets are reporting tonight that Independent Connecticut U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman (file picture above) will announce his plans to retire from the U.S. Senate tomorrow.  This, of course, has nothing to do with public polling indicating that Sen. Lieberman likely could not be re-elected if he ran as a Republican, Democrat, or Independent.

One of Lieberman’s final legacy will being the point person for the Obama Administration in the U.S. Senate in getting the repeal of DADT passed during the lame duck session of the last Congress.

Me on Lieberman at Kos

On December 15, 2009 By

I posted this last night in a diary.

I just finished watching Olbermann and Rachel, their thorough demolishing of the sorry human being who is Joe Lieberman, and just had to put this down.

I was one of the people most loudly objecting to the Ned Lamont campaign to primary Joe Lieberman. ?At the time, I felt it was counterproductive. ?At the time, regrettably, I was supporting the Iraq war. ?And at the time, I thought Joe Lieberman would […]

I’m imagining a big flourish of an invite to the White House.? “Joe,” Rahm says, “the president wants you to come to the Oval Office? I’ll meet you at the front portico.”? Joe smiles with satisfaction as he hangs up, says to the chief of staff, “call the car around.? Get cameras to the front portico.”

Joe walks his power walk to the car, the driver opens the door, and Joe rides in style up to the front portico.? Flash bulbs pop, cable covers it live.? Joe shakes hands with the Marines guarding the entrance, and there’s Rahm, smiling.? Rahm […]

Great AP typo (Freudian slip?):

The typo, in an article on the upcoming vice presidential picks due from McCain and Barack Obama and written by one of the top AP political scribes, Nedra Pickler, was soon corrected but can still be found viewed via Google at numerous news sites early this morning.

After focusing on Obama, the article discusses several possible McCain picks, and relates, “His top contenders are said to include Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. Less traditional choices mentioned include former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, an abortion-rights supporter, and Connecticut Sen. Joe […]

Joe Lieberman Go To Hell #3,217

On August 12, 2008 By

Go to hell Joe!

“In my opinion, the choice could not be more clear, between one candidate John McCain who’s had experience, been tested in war and tried in peace. Another candidate who has not,” Lieberman said to applause. “Between one candidate, John McCain who’s always put the country first, worked across party lines to get things done, and one candidate who has not.”

Right. Barack Obama has never signed a statement denouncing these United States. John McCain did. Which reminds me. It’s been 43 days now since I called on Senator McCain to release his military records. […]

Joe Lieberman is a Dick

On June 27, 2008 By

Dickipedia is pretty fucking hilarious. If you haven’t checked it out, be sure to read the entries for The Pilgrims and Lance Armstrong.

One of the latest entries is for our favorite dick Joe Lieberman

Joseph Isadore “Joe” Lieberman (born February 24, 1942) is a former Democratic candidate for Vice President, an Independent Senator from Connecticut, a supporter of Republican presidential candidate John McCain, and a dick.

Lieberman’s strongest dick quality is his propensity to betray those who have been loyal to him. Whether it’s trading in his kind-of-Jewish first wife Betty for his super-Jewish second […]

There is definitely something wrong with Joe Lieberman. Maybe it’s not a brain tumor- but something is definitely screwed up inside his head.

If his transition from Democratic VP candidate in 2000 to cheerleader for the Republican presidential nominee in 2008 isn’t enough proof for you, then how about this:

Joe Lieberman is now defending John Hagee.

Yes, THAT John Hagee.

The crazy preacher who believes God sent Adolf Hitler to help Jews reach the promised land and that God sent Hurricane Katrina to kill the gays.

A guy so over-the-top that even John McCain has rejected his endorsement.

Maybe […]

Today’s Time Magazine is going to contain a ‘mini-profile’ of Joe Lieberman. It’s titled “What Joe Wants”.

And what exactly is it that Joe wants?

Some say it’s to switch parties- that Joe Lieberman wants to be a Republican.

And I say: so long, Mr. Lieberman… don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out!
