Mike DeWine has lied his way through every single step of his gubernatorial campaign. The Republican candidate for governor in Ohio is the latest in a long line of GOP officials who will shamelessly lie, cheat and steal to gain power by any means necessary.

Combing through the lengthy archives of Politifact or the Columbus Dispatch’s AdWatch reveals just how often DeWine outright lies to or misleads Ohio’s voters. In all honesty, it’s difficult to keep track of how often DeWine lies to our faces, but here’s my best effort.

Newly-obtained documents reveal that between September 2012 and August 2013, Attorney General Mike DeWine’s office twice declined to go after the drug manufacturers that flooded the market with addictive prescription opioids. Instead, DeWine waited to take legal action against these drug companies until May 2017—less than one month before declaring his bid for governor.

John Kasich and Rob Portman aren’t just running a campaign on jobs and the economy.  But very specificially, they’re claiming that Ohio’s economic woes are because despite 16 years of all Republican rule in the State of Ohio before Governor Strickland took office, Ohio is such a horrible taxing and regulatory environment that businesses just cannot succeed here and have been engaged in a mass migration out of the State.
