Lee Fisher’s attempt to sweep the newspaper endorsements failed.
Despite the fact that they note that Fisher is pulling away from Brunner in polling, the editorial board of the Cincinnati Enquirer endorsed Brunner:
But we think Democratic voters ought to give feisty underdog Brunner a good look in this race as well. She has shown resilience and policy-making skill as secretary of state, a difficult post on which both parties exert great pressure. We haven’t agreed with some of her decisions on election policy, but she has stood her ground credibly on reforms and has worked out some […]Full Story... →
The Veterans’ Vision announced today that it was endorsing Jennifer Brunner in the Ohio Democratic Senate primary.
From the press release:
?We asked Lee Fisher to stand up for American veterans and he would not clearly state his position. We need to sack the slackers for veterans and we are here to say that we unequivocally stand behind Jennifer Brunner in her US Senate run,? said Maj. Brian Hampton, Publisher of the VETERANS? VISION, making it clear which Senate candidate veterans can trust.
Secretary Brunner recently joined with 50 current Members of Congress to affirm her support […]Full Story... →
Cross Posted from The Huffington Post:
Lee Fisher and Jennifer Brunner are the two democratic U.S. senatorial candidates on the ticket for the upcoming May primary in Ohio. The winner will face off against Republican Rob Portman. If Brunner wins, she will be the first woman from Ohio ever elected to the U.S. Senate. However, if money is the sole indicator of the winner, it will be Fisher/Portman in the general, and Portman will win the seat.
Money does matter, but Americans love an underdog and Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner is running a Seabiscuit […]Full Story... →

Jennifer Brunner’s campaign promise
Posted by Tom Jackson on 26 Apr 2010
A few days ago when I got to work and checked my e-mail, I found a long press release from the Jennifer Brunner campaign, criticizing Lee Fisher, her opponent in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate.

Howie just sent me this little nugget of awesomeness.
We have a genuine RIAA-certified Barenaked Ladies multi-platinum award for STUNT. We’re going to give it to the campaign that gets the most votes at the?Blue America May Senate Primaries page. A vote is a donation to your favorite candidate– whether one dollar of one-hundred dollars. The candidate with the most votes gets the award disc to auction or to give away to one of their donors.
So, please take a look at?the page and make a contribution– no matter how small– to either Jennifer Brunner (OH)…
I’m […]Full Story... →
Multiple sources are confirming that Lee Fisher’s wife, Peggy Zone Fisher, has been seen taking stacks of Jennifer Brunner literature from various events, even pretending to want to help distribute it, and making it disappear.? This, of course, is a sign of confidence that Lee will win May 4.
In addition, Peggy Zone Fisher is reported to be stalking the Brunner campaign website for schedule info, then calling ahead to the hosts of Brunner events to harass the hosts along the lines of “how dare you”, “where’s Lee’s invite”, etc, including ministers at African American churches.? This also, of course, […]Full Story... →
Another standard play in the Lee Fisher playbook is the consultant driven, mundane media cycle milking, manufactured FEC complaint late in the campaign.? Here’s how it’s supposed to work.? Find some little thing in an FEC filing, gin it up to be some major SCANDAL, get your spokesperson to be “troubled”, on the record, get lapdogs like Steve Koff to get all breathless in print, which then leads to some “independent” filing of a “complaint”, which then leads to more breathless Steve Koff articles.
Only question is how quickly this gets into a negative attack ad.Full Story... →
What the hell do these guys think they’re going to accomplish?? I mean, seriously.? I can see hiring a tracker to follow a Republican around, because Republicans say stupid shit all the time just to prove to their supporters that they too are moronic imbeciles.
But Jennifer Brunner?? What the hell is she going to say?? You think you’re gonna catch Jennifer Brunner commenting how Lee Fisher is a total ASSHOLE, for hiring OTHER TOTAL ASSHOLES, to follow her into BATHROOMS?
Get a fucking life, for God’s sake.? And when I’m the one telling […]Full Story... →
…Is a tracker for the Lee Fisher campaign, by the campaign’s own admission.? He tried to follow Jennifer Brunner into the bathroom at the Marcia Fudge 11th CD Caucus meeting at John Adams High School, where all the county executive candidates were invited to debate.?? According to people on site, this created quite a scene, with an African American minister confronting the young man to ask if he worked for Lee Fisher, which the man would not answer.
Then….the tracker followed the Brunner campaign to the west side for a Beers for Brunner event […]Full Story... →
