Over the past two days we have been writing about Republican State Senator Frank LaRose’s fundraiser featuring Sean Spicer, Donald Trump’s press secretary and the guy responsible for defending Trump’s claim that millions of people illegally voted in the 2016 election.

Funny story: Spicer cancelled on LaRose today.

According to Politio:

Spicer said he pulled out of the event on Sunday, but neither he nor other administration officials would say why he had agreed to participate in the first place.

After the Politico story broke, LaRose spent the evening trying to “correct” reporters on Twitter with his own narrative…

According to LaRose, Spicer can’t attend the fundraiser because “he will be on the road” not because LaRose:

called Donald Trump’s personal conduct “disgusting ” and said the nominee “hasn’t demonstrated to me that he deserves my vote.

As Brutal Realist put it on Twitter…

“Uh huh. Sure.”

Frank’s done what the majority of Republicans have (except for Kasich), dropped them and bent over for Trump. Spicey probably didn’t ask permission to attend. Besides, he’s too busy trying to clean up (unsuccessfully) Trump’s near daily mess to get time away from the podium.
