In the brief pause after the first debate, I want to recognize a special group of Republican Ohio politicians that I will continue to do up to election day.
It’s the shadowy group that endorsed Donald Trump and then took the first covered wagon out of town. Now you see ‘em and now you don’t. Profiles in courage they aren’t. That’s an attribute that only shows up in their yard signs.

As written about here on Plunderbund and elsewhere, this week Donald Trump’s incompetence and arrogance were both on full bombastic, sputtering and sniffling display for all of America to see at the first presidential debate between the businessman and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Trump’s debate performance was what he himself would likely refer to as a “disaster” — since he calls so many of the “problems” in this country “disasters” — and he wouldn’t be wrong if he did.

On his weekly Wednesday call with reporters, Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown said he just did something he’s never done before, voting to override President Barack Obama.
The bill Sen. Brown voted to override, called the 911 Victims Lawsuit Bill, also received votes from 97 of his colleges versus only one who voted to not override, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. The controversial bill would allow the families of Sept. 11 victims to sue the government of Saudi Arabia for allegedly backing the terrorists who carried out the attacks.
