Over the last two days Ohio’s governor made several stops in New Hampshire, including a meet-and-greet at the Exeter Inn before stopping at Gilchrist Metal Fabricating in Hudson followed by yet another town hall meeting at the Belknap Mills in Laconia.
Odds are good that Gov. John Kasich didn’t talk about just how poorly he did last week in the fourth Republican presidential debate, which was confirmed in a new poll of 1,000 Republican-leaning voters that showed exactly how bad he tanked in Milwaukee, Wisconsin last Tuesday evening.
A new HuffPost/YouGov poll showed the drubbing Mr. Kasich took following his widely maligned debate performance that displayed the 63-year old’s well-known cranky and prickly personality.
Among Republican-leaning voters who watched some parts of the debate, Ohio’s two-term governor got the worst grade of the eight candidates on stage in Milwaukee, at a debate hosted by Fox Business News. For all John Kasich’s efforts to show himself as different from the others, he earned himself a big zero on which candidate poll participants thought won the evening.
The politician who did himself the most damage at this debate was John Kasich, who stood out largely for his exasperation with his fellow candidates.
Only three percent had their opinion of the twitty governor compared to 48 percent who had it worsened.
The HuffPost/YouGov poll consisted of 1,000 completed interviews conducted Nov. 11-13 among U.S. adults, using a sample selected from YouGov’s opt-in online panel to match the demographics and other characteristics of the adult U.S. population.
