Ohio AG Mike DeWine Switches Candidates, Dumps Santorum For Kasich
The governor of Ohio is too afraid of me to let me near him, but Ohio Attorney Mike DeWine, reelected last year to a final term, has no such reservations.
DeWine Dumps Santorum
In an on-air impromptu interview with me Tuesday on his way into the student union at Ohio State University where Gov. John Kasich declared he was running for president, General DeWine said he would be supporting the governor this cycle and not Rick Santorum, the ultra-conservative candidate DeWine campaigned for in Ohio during the 2012 Republican presidential primary.
Kasich, The Cowardly Clone
Unlike Gov. Kasich, Ohio’s attorney general isn’t afraid of certain members of the press. In a few more years, when Kasich is term limited and headed out to pasture, Mr. DeWine, an attorney who worked his way up the political ladder from county prosecutor to state Lt. Gov. and U.S. Senator, should be expected to compete for governor when the seat becomes available in 2018. Mr. DeWine has his crosses to bear like Mr. Kasich, but he’s confident enough to engage me in spite of them. Thank you Mr. Attorney General for taking the time.
