We caught up with Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper in Cleveland Wednesday to hear remarks delivered to the City Club by President Barack Obama. Both the president and Mr. Pepper focused on middle-class economics as the real pathway to prosperity for the overwhelming majority of Americans.

Democratic Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur was on-board Air Force One with the president Wednesday, when he returned to Cleveland after last being there in November of 2013 to deliver remarks on middle-class economics to about 400 who attended a meeting of the City Club, which moved from its regular venue to a much larger one at the Global Health Center for Innovation.

We caught up with Representative Kaptur and asked her about balanced budgets, the Republican’s recently released budget proposal and the prospects for a transportation bill she believes is critical for the nation and Ohio.
