On multiple occasions Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine has criticized his Democratic opponent David Pepper for lacking experience, claiming Pepper has a “lack of courtroom knowledge” and “precious little experience in any kind of serious litigation.”   

Funny stuff when you realize that Mike DeWine “was not allowed to practice law from Sept. 15, 1997, until April 10, 2007″ because his Ohio law license was inactive, according to today’s Plain Dealer.

Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel told the Canton Repository that he wakes up every day and wonders “how we can create an environment for a vibrant and growing economy. One of the main challenges we face as a state, as the baby boomers retire, we are seeing a shortage of skilled workers in many important fields.”

He made the comments while touring Brown Mackie College, a private, for-profit school.

The Ohio Republican Party says it has found a scandal in Democratic State Sen. Nina Turner’s campaign against Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted. According to the party’s top flak, Chris Schrimpf, Turner is …um…”too partisan”.

Who knew?

Although Schrimpf’s assessment of Turner hardly rises above the level of playground insults, it is the stuff one would expect from a spokesperson who once labored in the non-partisan inner circles of righties like Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue.
