Our friends over at Michigan’s Eclectablog are working diligently this week to help raise money for April DeBoer and Jayne Rowse, a same-sex couple challenging Michigan’s discriminatory marriage ban.
Before you do anything else, please read this amazing interview with the women and their three adopted children.
The couple’s fight began when they realized Michigan law prevents them from adopting their children together, meaning the non-adoptive parent has no parental rights if something were to happy to her partner.
Their lawsuit has expanded, and they are now fighting to overturn Michigan’s ban on same-sex marriage.
Seriously, go read the interview. It will make you angry at Michigan’s attorney general. It will make you fall in love with these kids. And it will leave you amazed at the strength of these two women, especially after hearing the nearly heartbreaking story of Jacob.
Go now! Read the interview.
Then go here and help support their fight.
