The changes to Ohio law enacted in the state budget would require a doctor to attempt to detect a fetal heartbeat. But anyone who tries to imply that your lady parts would be violated will quickly be tagged as the worst kind of liar, thanks in part to the fine folks at Politifact.

On Friday, Politifact gave Rachel Maddow a “pants-on-fire” rating for claiming that the new budget (HB59) would require a “mandatory vaginal probe at the insistence of the state.”

After taunting people who “people who are going crazy with this verdict”, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters told a radio host that, had George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin in Hamilton County, he would not have prosecuted the case.

BILL CUNNINGHAM: If the same set of facts happened in Hamilton County, there would be no prosecution?

DETERS: No, if he believed he was in fear of losing his life or serious physical harm, and shot as he’s being pummeled, I can’t imagine it.

I’m no lawyer, granted, but Ohio has different laws than Florida does.

In 2011, Kasich’s first budget cut $1.8 billion in state funding from Ohio’s schools.  The new governor urged Ohioans to reject new school levies that might help replace some of the money he stole.

His latest budget maintains a large portion of those cuts for public schools while increasing payments to Ohio’s poorly performing charter schools.    But has the Governor suddenly had a change of heart about school levies?
