According to AFSCME Spokesman Chris Fleming, a recent AFSCME poll shows support for President Barack Obama jumping seven points from 2008 among union members. The jump, according to Fleming, appears to be related to Senate Bill 5 and the attack against labor initiated by John Kasich and other Ohio Republicans.
“Kasich took on labor last year and he got his clock cleaned”, said Fleming. “Ohio voters and Ohio’s public servants know who is best for the future of Ohio, to move Ohio forward. President Obama has stood with everyone from the Jeep employees in Toledo to the correction officers in Lorain– not China. You can bet they will be out in force to bring home a victory in Ohio for the President.”
AFSCME Polling numbers show Obama leading Romney 59/36 (+23) with union households this year, compared to 55/39 (+16) in 2008.
