The Tea Party organizations behind Issue 3, the totally unconstitutional constitutional amendment that outlaws an individual mandate for health insurance, released a video that highlights the signers of their petition and why they signed.  They highlighted roughly four individuals.

About two minutes in, they featured this testimonial:

Government-run health care… will… hurt…. MEDICARE?!?

First, even if you put aside that this amendment, if passed, is a unconstitutional nullity.  But even if it were, and it somehow passed, the amendment only addresses the individual mandate.  It has no affect on the Medicare savings in the bill at all.  At all.

And then there’s the fact that the Tea Party supports the Ryan budget plan which cuts and privatizes … Medicare.

This is what we’re up against, folks.

Whats the language for issue  1  and 3 ?
are all  3  NO  to oppose?

  • They are the intellectual equivalent of the riots in England. No coherency, just violence.

  • Surely the GOP/ Tea Party knows what they are doing, and Issue 3 is simply meant to drive conservatives to the poll to vote YES on Issue 2 and put other conservative contenders into office?

  • Paying for commercials that are criticizing the current Obama Health Care plan cost millions, complaining that it cuts funding for medicaid and medicare ….Priceless.

No to oppose. None of the mamby pamby language like they used for the bullshit “Marriage Protection Act”  of 2004 that brought out the GOP in droves to get GWB legitimately elected.

Language of issue 3 from Ohio Secretary of State (who has remarkably taken a stand toward Kasich and his attempts to shanghai SB5 by cutting it up into easily digested pieces!)

    Issue 3
    Proposed Constitutional Amendment
    Proposed by Initiative Petition
To adopt Section 21 of Article I of the Constitution of the State of Ohio
A majority yes vote is necessary for the amendment to pass.
The proposed amendment would provide that:
    1. In Ohio, no law or rule shall compel, directly or indirectly, any  person, employer, or
health care provider to participate in a health care system.
    2. In Ohio, no law or rule shall prohibit the  purchase or sale of  health care or health
    insurance.
    3. In Ohio, no law or rule shall impose a penalty or fine for the sale or purchase of health
    care or health insurance.
    The proposed amendment would not:
    1. Affect laws or rules in effect as of March 19, 2010.
    2. Affect which services a health care provider or hospital is required to perform or provide.
    3. Affect terms and conditions of government employment.
    4. Affect any laws calculated to deter fraud or punish wrongdoing in the health care
    industry.
If approved, the amendment will be effective thirty days after the election.
