As previously reported by Plunderbund and the Dispatch, Delaware County Sheriff’s officers were unable to get a statement from State Senator Kris Jordan after being called to his house in response to a 911 call from his wife.

We were, however, able to get recordings of the 911 call and the dash cam video.

On the 911 call, and in interviews with officers that appear on the dash cam video, a very scared and very distraught Melissa Jordan draws a picture of years of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of her husband. (we’ll be posting this soon)

But when deputies talk to Mr. Jordan on the video below, he minimizes the events of the evening and tells them: “she got a little upset … girls do that”

We’ll be posting more video.

Not surprised, very sad. Hope she can escape and escape.

  • I may be the only liberal gun-nut in existence, but even I’m pretty sure that the Second Amendment doesn’t read “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free
State, and to keep your wife cowed, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be

Sorry, Kris, but that Second Amendment you hold so dear doesn’t apply when you are either (a) breaking the law [I don’t know about Delaware County, but I know that the Commonwealth of Virginia defines that as “brandishing a firearm” and it’s a felony] or (b) being an asshole.

And he guilty on both counts, apparently.

Sadly, being an asshole isn’t illegal. Maybe it should be. I do remember in the 80s Creem Magazine running a photo of David Lee Roth with some police officers at a Cincinnati concert and captioning it, “Van Halen singer arrested for violating Ohio’s anti-asshole statute.” We need that statute now!

  • I think you’ll find a good number of Plunderbund contributors supporting your gun views.

It will be difficult to elect people to offices if assholery is illegal.

  • That gets a little to close to thought crime, for my comfort, though.

Baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and threatening your wife.  What could be more American?

He’s my state senator (sadly) and I’m pissed off that NO ONE in the GOP has said a word about this misogynistic sociopath.  Other than Niehaus who said he “supported” both Kris and Melissa – what the hell does THAT mean?!

I finally wrote a letter to the editor of the Olentangy Valley News, it will be in the paper this week.  The letter is naming names – Kevin DeWine, Tom Niehaus, Pat Tiberi, and local GOP officials – who have remained mute on this issue.  It is unbelievable to me that KJ is still in office.  I guess because it’s Delaware County, IOKIYAR.

  • Random Thoughts

What I don’t understand is, if Melissa Jordan is the one who placed the call, then why did the officers not insist on talking to her, instead of taking her husband’s word for it?? I ‘get’ that Kris probably told her to keep her mouth shut and pretend that all was well, but I’m sure that police officers have dealt with these situations enough to know better.

  • I am very interested in viewing the Melissa Jordan dash-cam video. I could tell that she has endured years of physical and emotional abuse, just from the 911 call audio/transcripts that PB posted. I am truly concerned for her safety. I am thoroughly disgusted that people aren’t demanding Kris Jordan’s resignation, too.

  • I’m about to post it now, Bonnie.

The rest of the Kris Jordan interview is about the same.  He doesn’t want to put anything in writing and he jokes and chit-chats with the officers the whole time.

All while his distraught and shaken-up wife discusses her options with one of the Deputies at the scene.
