Kasich and his henchman really seem to know no bounds.

As we discussed earlier, Kasich refused to attend the unveiling of Governor’s Strickland’s Statehouse portrait yesterday. And now we’re hearing other Republicans were told not to attend either.

And in case anyone decided to ignored the memo: Kasich’s confidante and top lobbyist Robert “Bob” Klaffky was there writing down names.

We’re told he was there to intimidate Republican lobbyists who would like to stay on good terms with the Administration, and we have no reason to doubt this explanation given ever growing list of other threat and intimidation stories coming out of the Statehouse.

You won, Johnny. The race is over. You’re the Governor of the State of Ohio. Maybe try acting like it once in a-fucking-while.

Wow…..Kasich really doesn’t know how to play in the sandbox, does he? Taft was always a nice guy, he just wasn’t meant to be a politician. But the one thing he did have was class, and he proved it again by attending the portrait unveiling. The Taft/Strickland campaign brought some heated rhetoric, but Taft knew it wasn’t personal.

Normal politicians don’t keep hating their opponent once they’ve won. There’s something very, very wrong with Kasich.

He’s a radical rotten  RW  R. He is evil by default. See Bush for more examples and Nixon before him. They got worse every election cycle.

    Hate him.

This post isn’t nearly as Weineristic as the headline suggests….

Might want to check that, unless Kasich and Klaffky are doing something else.

Which is a possibility I suppose.

  • Haw haw haw.

    Klaffky is an ass.

What do you have to back up this story?  Your assertions are backed up by nothing.

It sounds to me that this administration is using strong-arm tactics, coercion, and making politicians and lobbyists offers that they cannot refuse.  Isn’t that what thugs do?

  • Unfortunately, it seems to be working.

Everyone is afraid to go on the record.

Not to be too pedantic, but there never was a Taft/Strickland campaign. Taft was, however, a punching bag that helped the Ds sweep into office. But Strickland didn’t unseat Taft, which might explain his attendance at the event (and his general class as a person).

We don’t blame you. Ken Blackwell is quite forgettable.

That’s bullshit. Perhaps nothing he can share publicly because the people who have been fired (or not hired) as a result of Kasich lackey intimidation won’t go on the record for fear of never getting another job or losing the clients they have. I’ve heard all the same stories. Maybe after the budget has passed, more people will be talking, but right now nobody wants to risk losing their already-tenuous funding if they are an interest group, or their jobs if they are lucky enough to have gotten another one.

I’ll leave you with a quote from our dear Governor: “get on the bus or the bus will run you over.”

Pardon my ignorance, but how can Klaffky continue to work as a full time lobbyist, and yet work for Kasich?  Is Klaffky a member of the Kasich staff?  I just checked over at the Online Lobbyist Filings over at the OLAC (http://www2.jlec-olig.state.oh.us/olac/Reports/ExecutiveInitialsSearch.aspx), and since the beginning of this Kasich administration, Klaffky has had over 20 interactions with the governor/staff in his capacity as a lobbyist, and 15 meetings w/legislators.
