John Kasich and his team have been claiming that Ohio is in the “top 10 [in spending] in dollars in the bureaucracy and red tape.”

According to Politifact, that information is coming from a state-by-state analysis of data from the 2007-2008 school year and is three years old.

According to the most recent U.S. Department of Education statistics, Ohio is actually 12th in the amount spent on administrative costs.

It seems like a small oversight, and Politifact gives Kasich the benefit of the doubt and calls his statement “mostly true”. If this really was an honest mistake, and the […]
