John Kasich and his team have been claiming that Ohio is in the “top 10 [in spending] in dollars in the bureaucracy and red tape.”
According to Politifact, that information is coming from a state-by-state analysis of data from the 2007-2008 school year and is three years old.
According to the most recent U.S. Department of Education statistics, Ohio is actually 12th in the amount spent on administrative costs.
