WKSU reports that 400 city employees in Cleveland – including police and fire fighters -will be laid off as a direct result of state budget cuts.

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson placed the blame directly on the Governor: “This is a state-imposed deficit that amounts to a state-imposed layoff and service reduction”

Add another 400 jobs lost to Kasich’s “Jobs Budget”.

what a shame — does he understand what the difference is between job loses and job creation.
He needs a new Websters dictionary…………

“More headquarters, more business, more jobs. That’s what it’s all about.”

In other words, Screw the cities, teachers, fire and police. That’s what it’s all about.

We own a business here in Cleveland, we’ve been holding on by the skin of our teeth for the last few years. Lost so many customers who can’t afford our services and products on unemployment or that moved to find jobs. Our customers are teachers, firefighters, cops, parole officers, social workers, as well as private sector workers who lost their jobs in the 2008 crash (like 5,000 former National City employees), those in the construction industry etc. Now..400 more city workers gone…many more to come when his draconian educational cuts hit..

Kasich is just shifting the people’s money to HIS people; he’s serving the top of the pyramid while the bottom crumbles. I love this town, I love my old diverse city neighborhood and my neighbors, I love my house that I won’t be able to sell and my family is here. I don’t want to leave. But, we just may have to if this man keeps getting away with destroying our state.
