Remember us talking about this smartass yesterday?

Well, guess who ProgressOhio’s Dave Harding saw on WBNS Channel 10 last night?

Gang, meet attorney Jack Painter, who lives in the high-income neighborhood of Indian Hills near Cincinnati.  Painter, like me, is a solo practitioner.  He’s the head of the Indian Hills Tea Party, on the Advisory Board of the Cincinnati Tea Party, and on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Liberty Council which has claimed as its mantle as being the statewide organization of the so-called “Tea Party” movement.  Oh, and he’s a contributor to Andrew Breitbart’s “Big Government” website, too.

Can’t you imagine all those folks living in the mansions in Indian Hill holding Tea Party rallies talking about how tough they’ve got it?

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that this man who likes to brag about pulling in $600k just happens to be both instrumentally involved in the Ohio Tea Party movement while also being former corporate counsel for Chiquita Brands International, Inc. and now practicing as corporate counsel for various other corporations in the Cincinnati area.  I mean, I’m sure his interest in yesterday’s rally was entirely personal and not part of his corporate clients’ desire to push Ohio down the slippery slope towards making us a “right-to-work (for less)” State.

Absent him turning out to be a lost Koch Brother, my mind is incapable of inventing a background for a fictional Tea Party figure who would more perfectly demonstrate the utter farce and corporate astroturfing that is the so-called “Tea Party” movement.  Can you?

Welcome to Plunderbund, Mr. Painter.

Come on. Is his name really Jack Painter? Someone ought to introduce him to Joe the Plumber.

sheesh. How low can you go? Corporate counsel for Chiquita. Sadly, our US Attorney general can list that on his CV too.

Fame? I dunno if this case is yet famous. But, yes, this is the same one.

  • Why am I not the least bit surprised to find out that jackhole lives in Indian Hill?

  • Jerome Saltsman

If Painter is an attorney, why doesn’t his name show up on the Ohio Supreme Court’s attorney registration list?

  • does ohio have a list of delinquent tax payers like most states? i’d like to check for his name if so. thanks!

It does as John W. Painter.

As much as this guy made me shake my head in disbelief at how bad things have gotten, what really got to me was the reporting in the Dispatch. Despite being outnumbered by about 20-1 at the protest, the Dispatch gave the Tea Party folk about 60% of the quotes.

Fair and Balanced. We must give equal time to irrationality in order to keep our circulation up. That’s the world we live in.

  • Anastasjoy

The article I saw from the Dispatch gave Tea Partyers 100% of the quotes. Maybe they updated the article later.

  • Thought I wrote this yesterday, but I guess not… teensy-weensy correction: That suburb (if you could really call it that) of Cincinnati is called Indian Hill, not Indian Hills.

Everything else in this post is 100% spot-on. 🙂

    an oldie but a goody.
I wonder how many other Tea partiers that applies to
