Bill Cohen is reporting that John Kasich wants to raise taxes on the coming Ohio casinos.
According to Kasich: “I don’t think the state is getting its fair share from the casinos… There’s got to be a way for the state to benefit more from these casinos.”
Kasich, of course, refused to take any follow up questions from Bill, probably because he suddenly realized he didn’t know what the hell he was talking about.
Kasich says the casino tax situation is “complicated” but it is actually very straight forward.

MSNBC is reporting that today John McCain suggested Congress shouldn’t repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) despite a recent Pentagon study favoring it because, well, we’re at war, damnit!
McCain seized on this finding to argue that forcing such a substantial personnel policy change in a time of war would be wrong for the military and the country.
McCain’s own Navy began experimenting with racially desegregated ship crews during World War II. The Army didn’t finally begin enacting Truman’s executive order desegregating the military until three years after he made it. They did it during the Korean War.

Here’s what Gubernatorial candidate John Kasich said as the early January announcement of Mary Taylor being his running mate:
“I don’t think going to Washington on your knees with a tin cup begging for somebody else to bail us out is an answer because at some point that ends,” said Kasich, a former Columbus-area U.S. House member.
