One last thought for the night:

I’m thinking about starting a Plunderbund office pool based on the following question: How long will it take SOS-elect Jon Husted to replace the existing pink-colored SOS website design?

Based entirely on my belief that Republican men are very, very insecure about anything that might bring their sexual preferences into question, I’m going to go with 4 weeks tops.

Email me directly if you want to get in on the action.

I don’t care about the color but the content is incredibly jumbled and even what improvements Brunner’s staff did don’t lend themselves to easy navigation.

As someone who both reads data from this site and provides it, it needs a LOT of work.

Not only will the site color change but the amount of information on the site will magically decrease. After all, public really dosen’t have a right to know who voted or gave money to the Republican’ts.

  • It certainly isn’t perfect but under Brunner the search functionality did improve. They fixed a few bugs and they now offer the ability to do searches across multiple data sets.

I’m not sure how much of this was Brunner’s doing and how much was the result of the geeks in the data center.

Either way I usually skip their search page completely and just download the whole data set so I can search it locally on my own machine.

The real concern is what will Jon Husted and the Republicans do regarding voting laws. Be on the lookout for changes in the ability to vote early, voter registration, the ability for Boards of Elections to delete voters from their databases and provisional voting rules. The Boards of Elections and their association (the Ohio Association of Elections Officials) are already meeting and are preparing recommendations for changes to Ohio laws. Their association is led by Republicans and they employ a blatanly Republican lobbyist named Aaron Ockerman.

Here’s another question? Is Brunner capable of a political comeback at some point, and if so, when/how?

My vote is that she is finished as far as getting elected to anything, but she may get a political favor of some sort – or an appointment if dems get back in power sometime in the near future.

It will be easier to exclude people who vote for Democrats and make it easier to steal elections for R’s.

If you can’t play fair you cheat then change the rules to cover up. Look forward to worse than Blackwell. Nice to know also that we will become less important in national politics thanks to the population drain.
