In 2001, I was working for the Labour Party, and we were having a terrible news day. Some crazy lady harangued Tony Blair over the state of the National Health Service, and it was on a running loop all day on the BBC, Sky News, everywhere. Labour staff were panicking.
Then, late in the same day, this happened.
Every single TV in the country began running the Prescott Punch non-stop for days. I remember thinking the first time I saw it that Labour had just won the election.
