John Boehner’s could potentially become Speaker of the House after tonight. This was supposed to be a vastly better year for Republicans in Ohio than in 2006. In fact, this was supposed to be the anti-2006 year.
So why is Butler County, Boehner’s home county down 5% from 2006 in turnout?
John Kasich is getting less turnout in Butler County than Ken Blackwell could get.
And I wouldn’t be surprised if Democratic turnout is keeping it from going lower.

That said, Barbour didn’t seem as bullish on the prospects of wrestling away the Ohio governor’s chair as he did about other aces. And if his appearance on “Morning Joe” is any indication, the Republican Party is getting ready to spin away a Kasich loss as merely the byproduct of the one massive, concerted and fine-tuned Democratic campaign effort.

The 2005 UK general election campaign was my last in Britain….alas. Went out with a bang. And some fun counter demonstrations, which in the UK are really quite frowned upon, for no good reason other than condescending British media losers. In 2001, I was working for the Labour Party, and we were having a terrible news day. Some crazy lady harangued Tony Blair over the state of the National Health Service, and it was on a running loop all day on the BBC, Sky News, everywhere. Labour staff were panicking.
Then, late in the same day, this happened.
