Portman is the embodiment of the Bush’s trade and budget record, even Fox News gets it and gets it’s a relevant political liability for Portman.
They call the race a tossup, and note that the most fired up part of the GOP base, the Tea Party movement, isn’t exactly embracing Portman as a candidate.Full Story... →
If you’re wondering who Governor Strickland is riding shotgun with, it’s General Motors North America President Mark Reuss (photo credit: Akron Beacon Journal). The car they’re driving in is the first Chevy Cruze to roll off the production line at GM’s Lordstown plant—GM’s new compact model intended to give Toyota and Honda a run for its money, or, yen.
It’s a symbol of Ohio’s reemergence as a manufacturing power. And it cuts into the heart of John Kasich’s campaign. John Kasich has said he opposed bailing out companies like GM. As have just about every other […]Full Story... →
“You’re going to call me,” Kasich said. “You got some knucklehead in there in an agency that doesn’t want to listen, you got bureaucrats in there that don’t want to listen and they frustrate out people, you’re going to get to me and we’re going to deal with it, because we’re not going to let anyone get in the way of jobs.”
Well when I heard that I was immediately […]Full Story... →
Glad the Paula Brooks campaign isn’t letting Tiberi get away with his latest fluff piece/horribly misleading ad. Tiberi has been in Congress representing the 12th since our boy John Kasich handed him the job in 2001. For Pat to be pretending that he’s from Main Street is just laughable. He’s the worst kind of Washington GOPer insider. He’s the biggest kind of patsy Congressman. Always a reliable vote no matter what agenda the Republicans in Congress are pursuing.
Pat either thinks the voters of the 12th are stupid or they have short memories. He also thinks he can’t lose. […]Full Story... →
Councilman Phil Davison of Minerva, Ohio made a fiery speech at Wednesday evening’s Stark County Republican Party’s executive committee meeting to select a nominee to run for Stark County treasurer. He lost. We win:Full Story... →
WKYC has the story. Russo delivered his letter of resignation to the lame-duck County Commissioners this morning and returned the county vehicle he had in his possession as County Auditor as a Bill of Information listing 21 counts of corruption are filed in federal court.
A Bill of Information is a process in which a party can be charged with a felony in lieu of being indicted by a Grand Jury. It requires the cooperation of the Defendant to waive their right to be indicted by a grand jury. Therefore, a Bill in lieu of an Indictment is […]Full Story... →
I knew I was forgetting a condiment to add to the Kasich-Taylor FAIL sandwhich they served this morning in trying to roll out their worker training platform.
From the Aug. 11, 2010, Youngtown Vindicator:
During the discussion with business owners, Taylor asked if there have been problems with the state’s job-training programs and the working relationship between businesses and universities. The business owners said no.
One month later, in Youngstown, John Kasich rolled out a plan to fix something a group of business leaders from that very same community, hand picked by the campaign, at a […]Full Story... →
After spending much of yesterday begging supporters to take free tickets to Kasich’s Columbiana County rally yesterday. The Kasich campaign switched gears and hyped a “MAJOR” announcement in a very special web episode of “Johnny and Mary.”
I was in court this morning, so I missed it. Apparently, I’m not the only one.
From Marc Kovac of Dix Newspapers (OhioCapitolBlog):
How about RightOhio’s Matt Naugle?
Now mind you, today’s announcement was Kasich’s unveiling his worker training reform package. Yeah, I know. Nothing gets voters excited like a technocrat candidate running on […]Full Story... →
I’m still in post-election coma, but I really want to thank all the people who supported my campaign, and the 730 voters who decided a man is more than the measure of his worst mistake. It means a lot to have so many good people stand in my corner. Many of you had a little taste of my existence, with the endless tossing of my criminal record into your face. I’m sorry you had to go through that, and it means a lot to know that you stuck with me. Thank you.
It’s for those people that I’m writing this […]Full Story... →
