Plunderbund has received a leaked memo from the very heights of the Dennis Spisak campaign. Its contents are below.

RE: Your Mother Doesn’t Fucking Work Here!

Listen assholes…

I spend all day dealing with loser kids who don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground.

The LAST fucking thing I need when I come home from work is to find my basement rec room (aka: our campaign office) littered with fast food packages and half-finished soda cans.

Jesus Christ people we are the GREEN party! If you HAVE to eat crap that comes in Styrofoam containers and aluminum cans at least put the packaging in the recycling containers out back behind the house (next to the rain barrel).

Try to remember why you’re here!!!

Oh, and to guy or gal who seems to have missed the previous gazillion memos about making sure the sliding door was sufficiently closed to avoid letting Ms. Mittens get out of the kitchen and into the basement: thanks!

Thanks a bunch.

Thanks for the fucking boat load of cat shit that I had to clean off my record collection this afternoon.

I might – I repeat MIGHT – still be able to save the Joan Baez and Phil Ochs records. But that Donovan LP that I played for you guys last week is fucked. 100%. Fucked.

I’m really starting to wonder if this whole campaign for Governor thing is more trouble than it’s worth.

Thank you.

  • LOL. I take it back. Feel free to comment Dennis! 😉

Joseph, how do you ever hope to be a “serious blogger” by posting this juvenile crap? Huh?

  • anastasiap

Is that real or satire? The Spisak campaign is so hapless it's hard to be sure. I saw where's he's attacking Strickland for cuts in education funding after promising to be the “education governor” (and in fact has worked very hard to push through education fixes despite required budget cuts). I wonderhow Spisak thinks he'd produce money out of thin air if he were governor.

  • mvirenicus

it is juvenile crap. it's pretty obvious that the dems are far more afraid of criticism from the left than from the gop and teabaggers. probably because the criticism is valid. you shouldn't have played censor against spisak because now everyone wonders what he said that was so horrible, and this blog's only answer is something that lacks any context and just plain ain't funny.

  • I don't think anyone is really wondering what Spisak said here that got him banned. It's the same crap that he's been saying over at Progress Ohio. Personal attacks on Tim and Modern.

If Spisak was just here attacking the Dems on policy he wouldn't be getting banned. That kind of commenting is encouraged. We do it all the time.

Hell, just on shear word count alone I'd argue that Tim and Modern's posts attacking Democrats far exceed those of any righty blogger.

But that's not what Candidate for Governor Dennis Spisak decided to do. Instead he chose to make personal attacks against Tim and Modern here and at Progress Ohio.

He's a candidate for Governor representing a nationally recognized political party. You'd think the guy would have a little more tact; a little more self control.

i work 70-80 hours a week. in addition to plunderbund, bsb, alternet and huffpo, i'm supposed to follow every ohio blog out there? not. plunderbund for me is a primary source of information. am i the only one? i have no idea what spisak is writing over at progressohio. i do, however, have a knee-jerk dislike for dems, who have crapped all over themselves over the last two years, taking pot-shots at third-partiers on the left. my decision is already made. brunner will have to beat fisher without my vote because i'm registering socialist. it doesn't help the dem cause to alienate those, like myself, who straddle the fence, not really liking the dems but often voting for them as the lesser of evils.

  • Yeah and for the guy to be shocked that I'd curse at him in an email. Duh. Pay the fuck attention!

  • It sounds like you need to do a post about it to get everyone up to speed.

  • mvirenicus

I think that would be counter-productive. I've had correspondence with mr. Spisak that suggests he would like to put this recent dust-up in the past. If I were being harassed by apologists for the do-nothing democratic party I'd be more than a little testy. Now if I can only get gf to join me in voting socialist for the sake of family harmony. 🙂

  • modernesquire

If he wants to put in the past he could stop his character assassination of me in his posts.

As for harassed, all I've EVER done is point out blatant factual errors in his post and asked two questions 1) What has he ever done to promote green energy? 2) Why doesn't he file a campaign finance report.

    That's hardly harassment.

If he cannot handle someone questioning him, he has no business running for office.

  • An apology to Tim would be nice. That's what could put this in the past – and allow him to comment here again if he so chose. Anything short of that is disingenuous lip service.

  • mvirenicus

i worked a couple years for greenpeace usa. i don't recall ever “doing anything” to promote green energy at the time. does that mean i'm not qualified to speak out on the topic or run a campaign for office with green energy as its centerpiece?

as much as i've grown to appreciate your blogging contributions over the last couple years, i have to say that your myopic slavishness in support of a certain government official gets a little tedious at times.

  • I think the point that has been made is that Spisak criticizes the current Governor – who has concrete accomplishments in the area of green energy – while not having done anything himself anywhere near what those he criticizes has. I believe that is the point, but nice straw man.

    Speaking of myopic…

  • mvirenicus

it appears i've missed the meat of this argument because it has primarily taken place elsewhere. still, i'll put my straw man up against anyone who backs the lukewarm efforts of someone in power while denigrating the ideas and efforts of someone without.

  • I don't denigrate his efforts or the ideas of the Green Party. I just think they are both horribly incapable of making any of them actually happen. Funny thing about elections, power, and change. You gotta win first.

Mr. Spisak didn't come on PB and espouse his ideas and efforts. He came on here and attacked a friend of mine. Without provocation and with indiscriminate malice. When this happens I don't just denigrate. I go to war.

  • mvirenicus

how much winning do the democrats need in order to get off their bought and paid for arses and provide some of the change that the people voted for?

  • However much I'm sure won't be enough for you. If you want to vote Green, Socialist, or Aunt Mary's Philanthropic Stewards it is your right and even your obligation if so called. Just don't expect much more than a fuzzy feeling for sticking it to the man or some shit. Warm fuzzies rarely are the trans-formative change you think they are.

    Well now I've got some
    A-dvice for you, little buddy.
    Before you point the finger
    You should know that
    I'm the man,

    And if I'm the man,

    Then you're the man, and
He's the man as well so you can
Point that fuckin' finger up your ass.

  • mvirenicus

i'll enjoy the view as the democrats go down in flames this november, because that's exactly what's going to happen as a result of their broken promises, half-baked solutions and general displays of cowardice.

  • most people call it a midterm, but you call it what you want.

  • mvirenicus

this midterm will be especially ugly, possibly rivaling 1994. do you know why? because for every member of the “democratic base” who registers a protest vote such as mine will be, ten more will simply stay home. that's how badly the dems have performed after being handed all the keys to change they would ever need.

  • baggeroh

Gee, does this mean I shouldn't change my affiliation to the Natural Law Party?
