When the Ohio House Republicans put out a press release titled “House GOP Urges Action to Counteract Skyrocketing Unemployment” the one thing you know it will contain are ideas for helping to ‘counteract skyrocketing unemployment.’ Or… maybe not.
Here’s a quick summary of the seven paragraphs contained in the press release I received today:
Ohio’s unemployment rate rose to 11 percent in March Democrats have a majority in the House Republicans proposed a bunch of bills to bring jobs to the state But the Democrats won’t let us pass our bills (boo hoo) Democrats hate small business and families […]Full Story... →
(HT: Ohio Democratic Party)
Remember the salad days of Tea Bagging last year when the Republicans filled Democrats with fear of Tea Party activists swamping the ballot boxes in such incredible mass it bend the space time something or other and Sarah Palin would be able to kick Barack Obama back to Kenyan from her house or something?
Well, the Columbus Dispatch reported that this year’s Tea Party crowd was roughly half the size of last year’s crowds, which sucks since this is the year the Tea Party’s can actually, you know, vote. Of course the half of […]Full Story... →
So in this post, calling out EmiLEE’s List political director, conspicuous MALE Jonathan Parker, for failing to put his organization’s money where HIS (not HER) mouth is, I linked to Women’s Campaign Forum.? Here’s how they describe themselves.
Our goal here is to give a real-world perspective into the world of women and politics: from the barriers women face in making the decision to run, to the sexism they encounter as candidates, to the institutional ?good ol? boys? club in our government.
And here’s the parent organization’s about page.

Hmmm…..why don’t we ask EmiLEE’s List political director, Jonathan Parker, why his organization, whose self proclaimed goal is the election of pro-choice Democratic women, isn’t supporting Jennifer Brunner, who Lee Fisher’s own supporters […]Full Story... →
I was reading my news feeds in Google Reader this morning, and came across a little fluff piece about Leonard Nimoy and our space program on Space.com… (emphasis mine)
“I do believe that President Obama means it when he says that he is 100 percent interested in space,” Nimoy told reporters. “I know for sure he’s a Star Trek fan,” he said, because the first time the two men met, President Obama made Spock’s traditional V-shaped finger spread.
Yes, that is something I imagine every “Muslim Communist urban pimp from Kenya” would do upon meeting Nimoy. Obama is such […]Full Story... →
The very first televised prime ministerial campaign debate in the history of Britain occurred last night.? And a clear winner has emerged in the flash polling – Liberal Democrat Nick Clegg.? This will have some big consequences.
Quick lesson in British politics – the Lib Dems are Britain’s third party behind the Tories (Conservatives) and Labour, hovering around 40-60 seats in a parliament that requires over 300 for a majority.? They haven’t always been this far out of power, but after the rise of the Labour Party in the early 20th century, the Lib Dems took a permanent […]Full Story... →
