It’s been a busy few days with all of the local, state and national news coverage of the race between Governor Strickland and his Republican challenger John Kasich. Fortunately for us, most of the news was pretty bad for Johnny boy this week.
To be fair, most people haven’t been paying attention to the race. And most people probably won’t be paying attention for a few more months.
But for the casual observer, I think two of the articles that came out on Friday provide some very important information about the two candidates that should be taken to heart and […]Full Story... →
All weekend CNN kept running on the crawl Governor Ted Strickland of Ohio: “I feel very secure here in Ohio” and I wondered what the hell they were talking about.
This is the video they were teasing.
It’s a good interview with John King talking to Governor Strickland about the threatening letters he received, the current state of the economy in Ohio and the upcoming election.

Actor (most famously in Stand By Me and “Star Trek: The Next Generation, and some hilarious cameos on “The Big Bang Theory”) and author (I highly recommend Just a Geek, BTW) Wil Wheaton sent this across on Twitter earlier today:
Boy, you’d almost forget we are at war. And that is the so-called “Communist News Network”, if you believe the Teabaggers. Which is a silly thing to do, of course.
You can follow Wil on Twitter […]Full Story... →
The media coverage of the 3C intrastate rail system has been downright neglectful.?
Today, the Dayton Daily News reports that the vote in front of the State Controlling Board is in jeopardy because no Republicans have expressed a willingness to support releasing funds for a study of the plan.? Not actually implementing the plan, mind you, but a feasibility study of the plan.? Why?? Because these legislators who have held no hearings on the topic have concluded that its not feasible, even though many of those politicians were more than perfectly willing to support the plan until this […]Full Story... →
Modern calls me on the phone whenever he has something REALLY good he’s about to blog.? Modern called me about this.? Thank you, Modern, for making my day.? I have since been glued to the various internet writings of one Sonny Thomas – John Husted’s newest BFF.? Sonny tweeted this about hispanics the other day.

Last week, Sen. Jon Husted, R-Kettering, a candidate for Ohio Secretary of State, was weighing whether to attend […]Full Story... →
And here I was thinking we put the whole Obama-is-a-secret-Muslim thing behind us months ago.
I guess I was wrong.
I just got an email titled “Muslims Get to OPT OUT of ObamaC*are!”
Notice the little asterisk after the C that is supposed to look like a crescent and star? Cute. It goes well with the attached image:
The email was from one Lawrence A. Hunter, President of the Social Security Institute.
According to their missing mission statement, the SSI is “a national, 501(c)(4) non-profit, non-partisan seniors? advocacy organization.”
It looks like somewhere along the way they lost focus […]Full Story... →
Lest their be any question just how much Jon Husted is concerned about being upset by Sandra O’Brien, consider this recent incident involving the Springboro Tea Party.
Meet Sonny Thomas, Founder of the Springboro Tea Party (STP, not to be confused with Stone Temple Pilots or an oil additive).
According to the Dayton Daily News, State Rep. Shannon Jones, who is in a hotly contested Republican primary against fellow conservative State Rep. Michelle Schneider for the State Senate seat (Jones was appointed to the seat recently after the death of State Senator Schuler, although Schuler (who […]Full Story... →
