Say what you will about Jennifer Brunner’s holiday fundraising email pointing her donors to give money to charity, it got another “me too” out of Lee Fisher. ?Except as usual, Lee steps in it from the get go.

Instead of simply parroting Brunner’s suggestion to donate to charity, which itself would have been pathetic, Lee uses his campaign to raise money for the charity he used to run, and will likely return to when he loses this election. ?Recall that Lee once got a salary of $300,000+ from Center for Families and Children. ?He’s now using his own US Senate campaign to make sure the landing is just as comfortable after he loses this election.

You’ll recall that Lee Fisher partly justified his double dipping into state taxpayer money, to become jobs czar AND Lt. Governor, because he didn’t want to take the salary hit from $300k to the lowly lt. governor salary alone. ?Clever.

  • Tim, as your partner Modern can confirm, Fisher never double dipped.

    Nice research.

  • Lee double dipped, just didn't come up with both apples. only the bigger one. which is his wont.

  • ha! I got that email from Fisher today and I immediately thought: I bet if I click that link to the video Fisher will be ripping off Brunner and telling me to donate to some charity.

I got the email on my phone and decided not to click through. Glad you did.

Tim Russo: watching crappy campaign videos so you don't have to.
