The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that a deal has been struck between the Governor, Speaker Budish, and the GOP Senate leadership.? The legislation should be passed this afternoon:

The deal would close the budget hole by delaying this year’s 4.2 percent income-tax cut. The plan also will include a revamping of Ohio’s 132-year-old public construction laws on a limited basis and will make it easy for schools to get a waiver to avoid having to offer all-day kindergarten starting next school year.

God Finally Abandons Rod Parsley

I just read in The Dispatch that Rod Parsley is broke.

Parsley, the slimy television evangelist and founder of Columbus Ohio’s World Harvest mega-church, preaches a form of prosperity theology which claims that “God provides material prosperity for those he favors.”

According to Reverend Rod, his troubles are being caused by a “demonically inspired financial attack.”

But I can come to no other conclusion than the most obvious, based on Parsley’s own teachings: God has finally abandoned Rod Parsley.

And it’s about damn time.

In June 2009, the Pew Center on the States issued its report “The Clean Energy Economy: Repowering Jobs, Businesses, and Investments Across America.”  Among it’s findings regarding Ohio:

“Ohio ranked among the top five states with the most jobs in clean energy, energy efficiency and environmentally friendly production in 2007.” (p. 3 in the .pdf).
