Russell Wiseman, the Mayor of Arlington, TN, posted this on Facebook:
“Ok, so, this is total crap, we sit the kids down to watch ‘The Charlie Brown Christmas Special’ and our muslim president is there, what a load…..try to convince me that wasn’t done on purpose. Ask the man if he believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he will give you a 10 minute disertation (sic) about it….w…hen the answer should simply be ‘yes’….”

The Columbus Dispatch recently published a series of articles on domestic violence in Ohio.
It’s one of the better things to come out of the Dispatch recently. And also one of the most disturbing. The articles deal not only with the horrible stories of domestic violence but also with the unbelievable statistics (e.g. “45 percent of all 75,000 domestic-violence runs by police end without an arrest”) as well as the lapses in legislation and law enforcement that allow serial abusers to avoid punishment.
With all of this real, serious, horrible domestic violence happening in Ohio I find it […]Full Story... →
When Jennifer Brunner announced her candidacy in February in a thread at BSB, I asked her point blank about a troop increase in Afghanistan.
Jennifer, as a US Senator, you will be an integral part of the foreign policy decision making of the country. What is your vision of the US role in the world going forward, and specifically, how would you vote on troop increases to Afghanistan?
Here’s Jennifer’s answer, titled “The Resurgence of Al Qaeda”
The resurgence of al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan is the greatest threat to our national security. I […]Full Story... →
Add to the base pandering list one Jennifer Brunner. Jennifer decided to go the route of the panderers even before Obama’s speech, which she spent being featured at a women’s forum. We call that pot shots from the cheap seats. If you have a strong principled stand against the President’s plans in Afghanistan you might want to have a forum on that during an important speech.
Hell, if you had a principled stand against escalation in Afghanistan you might campaign against the candidate who said in the campaign that he’d do just that. Jennifer, if I remember correctly, didn’t do […]Full Story... →
Hey liberal groups and 2010 campaigns. You know what? That base you are pandering to? They voted for more troops in Afghanistan. So did you. Do me a favor and stop the breathless pandering to the anti-war bloc of the Democratic Party and get back on the O-train. It is, after all, what you busted your ass to get elected. My how soon we forget:
I highlight this image because it’s from a resulting search for “obama campaign afghanistan”. Side by side are results from July 20, 2008 and November 25, 2009. On July 20, 2008 during the […]Full Story... →
Down to 10% from 10.2% in October, with revisions DOWNWARD in job losses going back to September.? All of which is WAY better than expectations.? Month to month numbers are notoriously unpredictable, particularly at the bottom of a recession, but this is a good sign that the recession is beginning to end.

We recently hit the milestone of 5,000 posts here at PB. It’s pretty funny that this post was the one. Maybe that’s why it blew up the comments…or maybe it’s because we like a good diversion every now and again.
I’ve been watching the number get near the 5k mark and have driven Tim nuts with mentioning it. It’s a great milestone that marks 4 going on 5 years in the ‘sphere. We’re also approaching 10,000 comments. Plunderlicious.
Thanks to everyone who reads, comments, and most importantly those who blog! We should hit 10k in less than 4 […]Full Story... →
