Here we go.? The Diversity Center, whose president & CEO is Lee Fisher’s wife, Peggy Zone Fisher, today issued a condemnation of the Aunt Jemima depiction of Nina Turner by George Forbes’ Call & Post.
We call on the Call and Post to retract its November 25, 2009 depiction of State Senator Nina Turner and apologize to the entire community.
Anyone think Lee Fisher has anything to do with this statement?Full Story... →
So the president makes a decision, the orders are given, it’s done.? Cue the cowardly pandering.
Nothing says “courage” quite like waiting for the precise moment that your “principled” position is literally an impossibility before you run out to tell us all that NOW, yes NOW, after the troops are literally on their way, NOW we must withdraw from Afghanistan, NOW.
I respect the anti-war position in the Democratic Party base. It makes me happy to be in the Democratic Party. I even respect loud disagreement with the policy after it was announced on Tuesday night. In fact, I […]Full Story... →

Should Powerful Men Not Get Married? My TV-boyfriend Dylan Ratigan thinks so.
His theory is that men with power – in this case Tiger Woods because he’s a celebrity worth $1 billion – should not get married because they are in too many situations where they will be tempted to sleep around. These men constantly have women “making themselves sexually available” to them. (If taken […]Full Story... →

The Ohio Constitution mandates that Ohio’s budget be balanced. And yet, at best, only five of the twenty-two GOP State Senators is willing to vote for the necessary plan to balance the budget. Republicans cannot on one hand attack the State’s Democrats for balancing the budget by freezing a tax cut that the GOP implemented five years ago with no real plan to pay for it while claiming to support balance budgeting and fiscal conservativism. It’s an impossible feat when you realize that given the opportunity to show dedication to the issue– they bailed and left it largely to the […]Full Story... →
In the past week, two things happened which further proves that Jennifer Brunner will be our US Senate nominee in 2010.? Lee Fisher pandered to the base on Afghanistan, proving to us all that he believes he has a primary, and the GOP yawned, attacking Brunner over Afghanistan instead.
Lee’s done.? It must suck to know that you’ve raised all this money, collected all these endorsements, and Republicans are signaling in everything they do that your primary opponent is their general election opponent.? The GOP isn’t even attacking Lee over jobs, despite the sitting duck he clearly is on the […]Full Story... →
Anyone who’s been over to my place knows that there are largely four channels on my TV – wherever the Cavs are playing, MSNBC, the occasional PBS doco, and TCM.? I learned last night that this month’s Star of The Month on TCM is Humphrey Bogart.? Which means I’m gonna be watching TCM a lot this month.
One of last night’s Bogart movies was Dead End (1937), a supremely photographed movie, which at times feels like an art piece – every scene could be a poster in a bookstore.? It’s also a very Depression era movie, lots of […]Full Story... →
