I have been hearing rumors about John Kasich for a while now.
Rumors about John’s angry run-ins with flight attendants and his horrible treatment of servers at restaurants. Rumors about his complete lack of self-control and his arrogant and childish behavior in public places. Rumors about his inability to not be an asshole when not being an asshole is the only thing he needs to do to help push forward his latest quest for statewide political office.
So far, I’ve avoided posting about any of these rumors because no one has come forward with similar information or any actual […]Full Story... →
There are so many important political events happening this week that I can’t decide which one to spend my time writing about. So instead I’ll write about spelling/grammar mistakes. And if grammar/spelling/word usage errors don’t annoy you then you can just skip this post.
Let me start by saying I look forward to Hannah’s daily Rotunda Insider email, which contains links to three of the top stories in Ohio politics each day. It’s not a replacement for blogs, but it gives you a good feel for the political stories that the major news outlets are covering that day.
Normally […]Full Story... →
Twenty-ten is quickly approaching. And that means two big political battles are nearly upon us: Governor Strickland’s race to stay in office and the race to replace George Voinovich as the next Senator from Ohio.
Rasmussen has already started polling for both and, so far, the results don’t have me too thrilled.
In the Governor’s race, that asshat from Fox News (aka John Kasich) is actually leading by a point (46/45). Not statistically significant, but still worrisome.
And the Senate race numbers are just as close.
I know there are a lot of excuses we can give for […]Full Story... →
One of my favorite bands from back in my band days. Discovered these guys with my brother in Stache’s and have listened to them since then. I honestly had never seen 3 individuals (absent any vocals) kick so much ass. They recently reunited and will be playing at the Ravari Room in Cbus. I’ll be there. Feel free to join me. First pint is on me.
They’ll be playing with a Cleveland band Keelhaul. Never heard of them until hearing them on the bill with K2B, but have checked them out and really like them as well:

So, this is a few days old now, but Rude Pundit has an excellent take on Jimmy Carter’s comments about racism and President Obama.
Listen: when former President Jimmy Carter, from rural Georgia in the goddamned 1920s, says something is racist, he knows what the fuck he’s talking about. Can you imagine the number of toothless crackers he grew up around? No, you can’t. Don’t even try. Because if you didn’t grow up during a time when racism was seen as the way things were, where a white person who was polite to a black person was seen as […]Full Story... →
I just wrote about an email I received from Tom Delay’s daughter asking me to vote for her dad on Dancing with the Stars tonight.
It turns out that the email address to which they sent the message has only been used twice by me: once to register with The Buckeye Insitute (a local, Ohio conservative group) and once to register with the Coalition for a Conservative Majority.

I just received an email asking me to ‘vote early and vote often’ for Tom Delay on tonight’s Dancing With The Stars episode. The message was sent to one of the email accounts I use exclusively for registering with conservative causes and candidates.Full Story... →
I’m a little late with my post on the passing of the “Equal Housing and Employment Act” by the Ohio House. But hey, blogging doesn’t pay the bills (yet?).
So there’s already been coverage of supposedly moderate Ohio Republicans voting against it despite their previous support for non-descrimination legislation (talking about you, Josh Mandel).
And everyone was shocked by Democrat Jennifer Garrison’s support given her horrible past record on LGBT rights.
But I think one of the more remarkable facts behind this story is that five Republicans did the right thing and voted for it. Reps. Blair, […]Full Story... →
