Bristol Palin Is Obviously Not a Republican
I know Brian already wrote about this, but I thought I’d add my take on it…
When Fox News interviews the teenager daughter of popular conservative Republican no one expects to hear any difficult questions or any questions about ‘touchy’ subjects.
And, for the most part, Greta Van Susteren’s interview of Bristol Palin pretty much met those expectations – with the exception of one question about why Bristol didn’t use contraception when she had sex with her boyfriend: “Is that something that you were just lazy about or not interested, or do you have philosophical or religious opposition to it.”
Kind of a surprising question given the context.
But the answer was even more surprising: “Everyone should be abstinent but it’s not realistic at all.”
When pressed about why it’s not realistic, Bristol responds “because [sex] is more and more accepted now”.
Wow! Bristol just set aside all of her religious myths and gave a reasonable and intelligent response to a difficult social issue – something a real conservative Republican could never possibly do.
Welcome to the party, Bristol.
