I left the ODP event here in Columbus shorty after they called Ohio for Obama. A video of the crowd reaction is included below. I have more video of the speeches and stuff I’ll get posted later tonight if I have time.
Note: if you were planning on headed down to the Renaissance hotel for the event don’t bother. When we left the line was down the block and the police were controlling access to the event. The ballroom was at capacity.
And I ran into Nick and David from BSB.
They were at the press table […]Full Story... →
Some great news from tonight. Obama winning, of course, tops the ticket, but it’s hardly the only good news. Nearly 2/3rds of voters under 30 voted Democratic. The margin in the US House grew (including Space holding a seat many thought 2 years ago would flip back to Republicans, and Kilroy taking a seat that has belonged to the GOP for decades). Tiberi looks likely to hold on to his seat, but Robinson came very close. Senate results aren’t in, and while it looks to be a bit of a long shot to get a filibuster-proof supermajority, the Democratic position […]Full Story... →

Update: Posted this via phone before. Here are more details. Location was Delaware Precinct 2F at 140 S. Washington Street (Zion A.M.E. Church). Holloway was the precinct captain. She parked again and came in behind us as we were talking to Holloway. We asked him what happened and he said her address didn’t match so he asked her if she […]Full Story... →
I just want to remind everybody that, despite all of the polls indicating that Obama will win today’s election here in Ohio, the only tally that matters is the one being conducted today. Ignore the polling. Don’t assume he’s got it in the bag until the results are certified. Your vote matters so get out there and hit that Obama button.
And while you are at it, don’t forget about your downticket races. Tiberi will never give up his seat on his own – it’s up to us, as citizens, to vote him out.
So vote. Get your friends and […]Full Story... →
I’ve heard reports already of people being forced to vote provisionally because of long lines. I can’t verify this – it could just be that they are being asked to use regular paper ballots, which is totally fine.
But I’ve heard from multiple sources now that people are being turned away or forced to vote provisionally because the address on their state-issued ID is not current – which is total bullshit.
This is the old rule and, word has it that it’s really old poll workers who are trying to enforce it.
THEY CAN NOT GIVE YOU […]Full Story... →
