John McCain gave his best speech ever tonight at the Al Smith dinner in NYC.
Ok, I’ll be fair. I haven’t seen all of his speeches, so it may not be his best one ever. But it certainly is his best speech of the campaign…Full Story... →
THE NOMINATING process this year produced two unusually talented and qualified presidential candidates. There are few public figures we have respected more over the years than Sen. John McCain. Yet it is without ambivalence that we endorse Sen. Barack Obama for president.
The choice is made easy in part by Mr. McCain’s disappointing campaign, above all his irresponsible selection of a running mate who is not ready to be president. It is made easy in larger part, though, because of our admiration for Mr. Obama and the impressive qualities he has shown during this long […]Full Story... →
This sounds all too familiar:
WASHINGTON – A female telecommunications lobbyist who became part of an explosive story early this year about John McCain has broken months of silence to deny the main subtext of the account — that she was suspected of being romantically involved with the Republican presidential candidate. “I did not have a sexual relationship with Senator McCain,” Vicky Iseman told the National Journal magazine.
The last time we heard someone say that, we know what happened!
…but it does depend on what the meaning of the word is is.Full Story... →
We love you Jesse. We really do.
But could you please just go away for the next 19 days?
Don’t give any interviews. Don’t take any calls from the press. And PLEASE, don’t speak at any more forums.
Just chill out at home for a couple of weeks. Order some pizza. Watch some pay-per-view movies. Maybe spend some time working on that sci-fi novel you always wanted to write.
19 days. That’s all we ask.
And when you finally emerge from your self-imposed media silence – America will have elected its first black president.Full Story... →
Long, but he lays it out well:
Joe the Plumber, Chris himself, and Jon Husted all would not match and thus would be at risk were they new registrants. Why would we treat new registrants any different than those who have been on the rolls for some time as mismatched?
Because most of the new voters are Dems voting for Barack. Very simple.Full Story... →
ODP hops on a very important issue this election cycle. The potential disenfranchisement of hundreds of thousands of voters – including the now famous “Joe the Plumber”:
Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern will hold a press conference this afternoon to discuss the potential impact of Republican lawsuits on voters in similar circumstances to “Joe the Plumber” whose last name – Wurzelbacher – appears with an “o” instead of a “u” on registration rolls. Since he is not a new registrant, Joe himself would probably not be among the 200,000 cases who Republicans claim are possible cases of fraud – […]Full Story... →
This sums up just about the entire campaign:Full Story... →
So let’s run down the list:
1. Undecided – Nope. Registered Republican. Clearly supports McCain.
2. Plumber – Nope. Not licensed in Ohio.
3. Income – Nope. Does not come close to exceeding $250,000 annually.
Complete and total fraud of a narrative and story.
I’d also add that since his voter registration does not match his acceptable ID, Joe better not vote or he’s committing voter fraud! Someone get the ORP on the case please. You think they’ll toss out Joe’s registration and not allow him to vote? We wouldn’t want to destroy the electoral foundation upon which […]Full Story... →
Lots of new and interesting information coming out about our friend “Joe the Plumber”. First, he’s not a plumber – at least a registered or licensed one:
“Joe the Plumber” isn’t a plumber — at least not a licensed one, or a registered one.
A check of state and local licensing agencies in Ohio and Michigan shows no plumbing licenses under Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher’s name, or even misspellings of his name.
So there’s that. Add to it the guy appears to OWE current taxes:
In December, 2007, the Ohio Department of Taxation placed a lien against him because $1,183 […]Full Story... →
