Listening to Ken Blackwell on this morning’s Laura Ingraham show…

“Voter fraud is the worst crime against democracy” Blackwell says. “We owe it to our citizens and the integrity of our citizens … to make sure we are rooting out voter fraud. You don’t do that by letting the fox guard the hen house.”

It is really, really, really unbelievable that Ken fucking Blackwell – the guy who supressed tens of thousands of voters in Ohio’s 2004 elections – has the balls to go out there and talk about election fraud.

For the record Ken, voter supression is much, […]

During tonight’s debate John McCain promised to reform entitlement programs like Social Security.

“Social Security is not that tough,” he said. “We know what the problems are, my friends, and we know what the fixes are.”

In my opinion, John McCain has already laid the foundation for his Social Security solution with his other policy positions. He just needs to package it up and sell it to the American people.

It would be a simple plan, actually.. Only two parts. And it addresses both big problems: too few people paying into social security and too many people receiving social […]

Debate 2: This One Was A Mauling

On October 7, 2008 By

Totally agree with Sullivan here:

This was, I think, a mauling: a devastating and possibly electorally fatal debate for McCain. Even on Russia, he sounded a little out of it. I’ve watched a lot of debates and participated in many. I love debate and was trained as a boy in the British system to be a debater. I debated dozens of times at Oxofrd. All I can say is that, simply on terms of substance, clarity, empathy, style and authority, this has not just been an Obama victory. It has been a wipe-out.It has been about as big a […]

One could argue that the debate was a tie. Neither candidate really shined. Neither really screwed up.

But after the debate ended, while the cameras were still running- McCain tapped Obama on the shoulder and then refused to shake his hand.

Yes- it could have been a moment of confusion for McCain or a misunderstanding. Wolf Blitzer didn’t think so. And neither do I.

Video coming soon.

Someone found the Oxycontin again:

McCain, who stopped to visit a half-dozen children at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt today, said the presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama has “waged the dirtiest campaign in American history,” and her husband Sen. John McCain will use tonight’s debate to correct the distortions.

I hate the gooks, said John McCain, I will hate them as long as I live. Senator McCain said these words when asked about his continued use of the racial slur, “gook.”.

John McCain has told us who he is.

John McCain supported the rescinding of Martin Luther King Day.

John McCain keeps on his payroll white supremacists, race-baiting swiftboaters and lobbyists for dictators and terrorists.

John McCain endorsed George Wallace, Jr., a favorite speaker among white supremacists.

He fought to keep the Confederate battle flag flying over South Carolina.

He seems to subscribe to a brand of religion-inspired […]
