President Bush has been in hiding lately; staying out of sight and out of the minds of the 70%+ voters who disapprove of his performance as President.
The basic reasoning: the less people think about Bush, the more likely they are to vote for John McCain in November.
The events of this week, however, have forced Mr. Bush out of hiding. And by “events” I mean the complete and total meltdown of the US economy.
I don’t think anyone could have expected something like this to happen. Certainly not under the strong fiscal leadership of George Bush. He is, after all, the first President with an MBA.
Despite all of Bush’s strengths on things like the economy, foreign policy and the basic use of the English language- problems are eventually going to arise and you certainly can’t blame HIM for that, right?
Take, for example, the error in today’s economy speech that was obviously the fault of a stupid speech writer who didn’t know the difference between “persecute” and “prosecute”.
Here’s the related excerpt from the speech:[audio:http://www.plunderbund.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/bushpersecuted.mp3]
Yes. You heard that correctly. He did say “persecute”.
To oppress or harass with ill-treatment, especially because of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or beliefs.
Either Bush’s speech writers thought they were actually writing a speech about the economy AND torture or George Bush has the verbal skills of a mentally challenged chimp.
