Update: For all those in Cbus awaiting the 7/11 date, I just spoke with the Landmark “Gateway 8” theater (south campus) and they won’t be playing it then. It is being pushed back a week, so expect it on 7/18 or that weekend.
I’m a big Hunter S. Thompson fan. He was from my hometown of Louisville, Kentucky so it’s no real surprise. I came to him later than I did Muhammad Ali (also from Louisville). I’ve been a lifelong fan of Ali. It’s probably best I came to Hunter late. If I had read him in High School […]Full Story... →
Rafid Ahmed Alwan – the infamous “Curveball” who provided a lot of “intel” about Iraq to our intelligence agencies – has been unmasked. And his credibility should have been zero from the start.
Along with confirmation of Curveball’s identity, however, have come fresh disclosures raising doubts about his honesty — much of that new detail coming from friends, associates and past employers.
“He was corrupt,” said a family friend who once employed him.
“He always lied,” said a fellow Burger King worker.
And records reveal that when Alwan fled to Germany, one step ahead of the Iraq Justice Ministry, […]Full Story... →
Earlier I wondered if the retooled SockPoliticans site was for real. There are so many mixed signals. First David Lawson puts an apology up on their old SockObama website. Then they are selling them. Then they aren’t. Then they are “exploring options”. Now they are retooling as SockPoliticians? Let’s be clear here. Just because you toss together some other monkeys (McCain appears to be an old Orangutan or something), it doesn’t make your racist Obama doll any less offensive. Period. You continue down this path to your ridicule. Pressure from Plunderbund won’t go away anytime soon.
So here’s […]Full Story... →
So why would Obama staff prevent two women wearing Hijabs from being behind Barack while speaking in Detroit? The easy answer is the staffers overreacting and that would be correct.
The real answer is the climate that the right desires to create around Obama and the hard political reality that comes with this. The fear and loathing these people bring to the table causes a knee jerk reaction in many that make otherwise good people make poor decisions. It’s sick. It’s why they must be defeated. With extreme prejudice. Then we can go about living up to the […]Full Story... →
According to the PD Marc Dann “is now a member of a group that mentors attorneys general across the country.”
Dann showed up this week at the National Association of Attorneys General summer meeting in Providence, R.I., as a member of the organization’s fraternity of former AGs who support the current officeholders.
Dann’s advice to current officeholders:
Keep your dick in your pants and don’t hire your loser friends to run your office.
Actually, I’m fairly confident Marc hasn’t learned a damn thing from this. His advice probably would be: don’t get caught.Full Story... →
As I may have mentioned before, I think some good will come out of higher gas prices.
For starters, it should drive people to drive less.
According to new Federal Highway Administration data, this is exactly what’s happening.
From November through April US drivers travelled 30 billion fewer miles than the same period a year earlier.
The environmental benefits of this should be obvious. But even if you don’t believe global warming is responsible for the recent midwest flooding, you can at least agree that fewer cars = cleaner air, less smog, etc.
At the very least, fewer […]Full Story... →
Come on. This ain’t hard.
The Republican ones. Of course!
True Majority has teamed up with Oil Change International to let you find out. Transparency good, right? Here are mine:
Let’s see. The only Democrat on the list took less than $5,000 and voted 50/50. Doesn’t sound like influence to me. You? The three Republicans took $390,517 and voted overwhelmingly for the oil industry interests. Still playing the pay for play game I see. When will they learn?

Well produced. Much better than the McCain ads if you ask me.
It’s supposed to start running in Ohio tomorrow.
OBAMA: I’m Barack Obama.
America is a country of strong families and strong values. My life’s been blessed by both.
I was raised by a single mom and my grandparents. We didn’t have much money, but they taught me values straight from the Kansas heartland where they grew up. Accountability and self-reliance. Love of country. Working hard without making excuses. Treating your neighbor as you’d like to be treated. It’s what guided me as I […]Full Story... →
Since the GOP can’t seem to find any other candidate, why not run one who has actually done the job before? It got me wondering, so I checked his URL jimpetro.com. There’s no site there, but the whois information seems to have been updated today and lists New Media Communications as the Administrative and Technical contacts. New Media is a well known GOPer web shop.
If the domain were dormant and just sitting there, why would information be updated as of today? I’m not sure if New Media had worked with Jim in the past, […]Full Story... →
Very good decision. Why would you limit yourself to less than 100 million when you’ve already taken 250? In a primary? You don’t. Especially since there will likely be more as the movement of $25-$100 donations continues. We are not even close to tapped out, those of us who gave up to $100.
$50 your way Senator. Anyone serious about change should signal their support of this decision to be financed by us and donate today!
McCain is toast from a fundraising standpoint. It’s the main reason – despite all the reformer straight talk BS – that […]Full Story... →
