On the way to Cincinnati yesterday I stopped at a truck stop and ran across a revised version of tic-tac-fruit – the “skill game” that, under HB177, became reclassified as a slot machine and was therefore outlawed under state law.
But this one was different.
In order to get around the revised state law, which says a machine can not give cash prizes and can not give a merchandise prize over $10, this machine awards winning players with a voucher for up to $10 in gas.
And just in case you wondered if this was legal- the machine has this written on the front:
