Sources tell me that Marc Dann will step down as Attorney General in August in order to allow Ted Strickland to appoint a successor. The delay is in order to have Dann in office for the time period necessary to trigger an appointment, else there would be a special election. Per Article 3, Section 18 of the Ohio Constitution. I’m not sure I read this section right, so I might have this wrong. I do hear for sure that Dann is done. Timing is all that’s in question at this point. Getting this straight from sources in the Governor’s […]Full Story... →
Despite all of the predictions– and as much as we might want it to happen- Marc Dann will not resign.
It’s not his style. He’ll fire everyone else around him. He’ll send the sexual harassment victims to counseling. He’ll do some more minor investigations but eventually it will go away and he’ll still be AG.
Marc Dann is not going anywhere until 2010 when his GOP oppenent will take over the AG’s office- after running a set of attack ads against Dann containing clips of today’s press conference.
You know how I know he’s not going to […]Full Story... →
Last November I went down to Columbus to meet some friends at Brazenhead. We ate. Had a few beers. Talked politics and life. Good times. Afterward, a buddy and I decided to hang out a bit more and shot over to Hi Beck for some pool and another beer or two. Again, good times.
This is about the time that rumors were all around Columbus about Marc Dann and his scheduler Jessica Utovich. I was hearing stuff, but not paying too much attention to it all. On our way out we see someone we knew who worked for the […]Full Story... →
Everyone knew it was coming. Today is the day.
Two top employees of Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann were fired and a third has resigned because of an internal investigation of sexual harassment complaints released this morning.
And Dann admitted he had a “romantic relationship” with an employee during a “difficult time” in his marriage.
Marc Dann was to bring back a sense of trust, […]Full Story... →
Dann just finished taking questions about the latest scandal. (Jill live blogged the event).
He admitted to having an affair with his scheduler- Jessica Utovich- who resigned last night along with Edgar Simpson, “Dann’s top nonlegal adviser”.
Guiterrez (the creepy sex guy) and Jennings (Dann’s Communication Director) were fired today.
The AG’s office announced some additional actions they would take.
And so now we know what we knew before: Marc Dann is an ass and he made some really bad choices by hiring his friends and sleeping with his scheduler.
But he didn’t break the law and he […]Full Story... →
I wonder what would make Hillary Clinton say this:
“Anyone, anyone, who voted for either of us should be absolutely committed to voting for the other” in the general election, Clinton said during an hourlong meeting with The Indianapolis Star Editorial Board. “I’m going to shout that from the mountaintops and the valleys and everywhere I can, no matter what the outcome of the nominating process is.”
Maybe it’s because her campaign since falling behind after Super Tuesday has done nothing but divide us? Maybe it’s because she is planning on taking this thing away with more vile and […]Full Story... →
Pelosi and friends nix the gas tax holiday. It will be DOA in the House. Why? Because it’s a stupid political stunt that will have no lasting affect on those who need REAL economic relief.
The gas tax holiday backed by Hillary Clinton and John McCain will be DOA in the House, lawmakers have warned, reports the Hill. The measure has been left off House energy proposals that could be tacked onto the Iraq spending bill because “there’s no reason to believe that any moratorium on the gas tax would be passed on to the consumer,” said House […]Full Story... →
I told you earlier about the DNC Chair under Bill Clinton swtiching support to Barack Obama. Boy did he ever. Wrote one HELL of a letter to the remaining super delegates too. I’d excerpt it, but you really have to read it all as I’d probably cut most all of it out into blockquotes. It’s that good.
No amount of spin or sleight of hand can deny the fact that where there has been competition, Senator Obama has won more votes, more States and more delegates than any other candidate. Only the super delegates can award the […]Full Story... →
If you’ve read PB over the course of the Democratic Presidential Primary, you’ll know that ModernEsquire and I have been going round and round. We don’t agree. When we are both guns trained on Republicans we usually do. Now it appears we are both guns trained on Marc Dann. Modern has been following the slow drip that looks to possibly end Dann’s AG job if not his political career. His latest is a stunner, title alone: Suspended AG employee: “Ass and tits got you the job”
I have to agree with this sentiment:
Fire Jennings and Guiterrez and then […]Full Story... →
