So Susan can tell me to man up all she wants. This new poll bears out my worry (despite political speak of candidates saying everything’s gonna be alright):

WASHINGTON (AP) — Voters increasingly dislike the Democratic presidential candidate they are not supporting, according to a new survey and exit polls, raising questions about the party’s White House chances as Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama’s contentious nomination battle drags on.

The Associated Press-Yahoo survey shows Obama supporters with negative views of the former first lady have grown from 35% in November to 44% this month — including one-quarter with […]

Boy do they ever!

Dozens of scientists are demanding that their names be removed from a widely distributed Heartland Institute article entitled 500 Scientists with Documented Doubts of Man-Made Global Warming Scares.

What do they do? Oh, just email 122 of the people on the list – which nets them 40 or so emails from pissed off scientists wondering why they are on the list. Hilarity! Not only is their scientific method off, but their fact checking seems to be a bit askew. Gore should debate this douche. He sounds like he’s pretty bad at the fact game.

Surprise, surprise, surprise!

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright couldn’t have done more damage to Barack Obama’s campaign if he had tried. And you have to wonder if that’s just what one friend of Wright wanted.

Shortly before he rose to deliver his rambling, angry, sarcastic remarks at the National Press Club Monday, Wright sat next to, and chatted with, Barbara Reynolds.

A former editorial board member at USA Today, she runs something called Reynolds News Services and teaches ministry at the Howard University School of Divinity. (She is an ordained minister).

It also turns out that Reynolds – introduced Monday […]

USA Today polled 52 economists asking “Do you think the U.S. economy is currently is a recession?”

67% said Yes.

Another 12% said we would be this year.

President Bush, however, still refuses to admit it- instead calling our current situation just a ‘very slow economy’.

His solution: make his 2001 tax cuts for the rich permanent.

Seven years after implementing these tax cuts that were supposed to stimulate the economy we are, by most measures, in a recession. Gas prices are at an all time high. The housing market in shambles.

And now George wants to […]

The RNC is really worried about the DNC’s new anti-McCain ad. So much so that they are threatening legal action…

“As a legal matter,” RNC chairman Mike Duncan said today, this is a “maliciously false” campaign ad. “The advertisement in question falsely and maliciously” quotes Sen. McCain as saying that extending the war in Iraq for 100 years would be fine with him, and places it in a context of images of combat. “Clearly this ad is just another attempt by the DNC to mischaracterize Sen. McCain’s statements.”

Mainly I think they are afraid because the DNC […]

YouTube Tuesday: GTAIV Edition

On April 29, 2008 By

GTAIV came out today, and I actually took a vacation day from work to play. Yes, I know. My wife thinks I’m nuts too.

Anyway, here’s an advert for what seems like a pretty cool Irish pub!

And a recruitment video for Liberty City’s finest.

The Florida Legislature is debating adding a new license plate to the 100+ specialty plates already issued by the state.

This one, however, is special- because it’s a Christian-themed plate- the money from which will go to some Christian organizations.

Seems pretty wrong, no?

What if we had a Muslim-themed plate?

Hillary is calling for one more debate – this one following the format of the Lincoln-Douglas debates.

In case you didn’t know, the original Lincoln-Douglas debates had this format:

One person talks for AN HOUR.

Then the other person talks for AN HOUR AND A HALF.

Then the first person gets another HALF AN HOUR.

Is anyone going to watch that?

Jesus really is everywhere. Everywhere there is food, at least.

He’s in our Peeps. He’s in our toast.

And now- he’s showing up in our Cheetos too.

(see below for full video!)

Funny thing is- in the process of searching for a photo of the above cheesy Jesus I saw on TV- I found another one!

I can’t wait to see where he shows up next.

Ohio GOP Loses Big Donor

On April 25, 2008 By

John H. McConnell died today.

John’s life is really the classic American story: son of a steel worker, joined the navy, went to college on the G.I. Bill, had a good idea, started a company, got rich and turned into a Republican.

He founded Worthington Industries, help start the Columbus Clippers and the Blue Jackets and, since 1990, has contributed over half-a-million dollars to Ohio’s GOP candidates.

George Voinovich 56,000 Betty Montgomery 40,250 Ken Blackwell 35,750 Thomas J. Moyer 31,000 Mary Taylor 30,000 Greg Hartmann 20,000 Jon Husted 17,500 Jim Petro 11,250 Steve Stivers 11,000

etc. […]
