Steve Stivers was at the Dublin St. Pat’s Day parade with his supporters today. Here’s their group photo…

Notice anything interesting?

Ok- sure. they are all wearing blue t-shirts. Anything else?

Ding! you are right- they are all white. And mostly men. Also in attendance: 4 kids, 5 babies and 1 dog.

And, if I was a betting man, I’d wager that around 10% of these people are relatives of Mr. Stivers.

The rest, of course, are still a bunch of white people- about 40 of them actually. Not really a big turnout given there are about a million people in Franklin county.

And of that million people, 20% are black and 51% are women.

It looks like Mr. Stivers has a long way to go if he wants to start getting support from the majority of his district’s voters.

He also had these pictures on his site…

    Steve with an Old Lady…

    Steve with a Black Family…

And Steve with an Asian Kid…

Interesting that the handshaking photos seem to have been taken at the margins of the parade route with very small groups of people.

  • I can just imagine the Stiver’s people running around trying to locate handshake victims…

Staffer 1: “Someone go grab Steve! I think I found some black people who are willing to shake his hand!”

Staffer 2: “Hang on… ‘oriental’ kid at two O’Clock!”
