Re: Keystone Test: Obama Losing Ground [Get ready for a good one.]
The path to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue goes through Pennsylvania so if Barack Obama can’t win there, how will he win the general election?
[Answer: I suppose by holding obviously Democratic states like California and New York, and beating McCain in swing states like Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Virginia and Wisconsin where Clinton lost to Obama by mostly crushing margins. But good question.]
After setbacks in Ohio and Texas, Barack Obama needs […]Full Story... →
Senator John McCain hailed as a spiritual adviser an Ohio megachurch pastor who has called upon Christians to wage a “war” against the “false religion” of Islam with the aim of destroying it.
I cannot tell you how important it is that we understand the true nature of Islam, that we see it for what it really is. In fact, I will tell you this: I do not believe our country can truly […]Full Story... →
This is the precise kind of shit the right wants to do with “Hussein” and Ralph King just lost his PB privileges over this one. In comments at Tom “Motherfucker” Blumer’s place (the thread that started the “motherfucker” post), Ralph says this:
Barack HUSSEIN Odumbo is a terrorist loving ass hat. This moron actually thinks he empty speeches will win the hearts of the terrorists he has dressed like…Maybe they would prefer we just call him Buckwheat!
Many have asked me why we gave him any quarter in the first place. One is I’ve talked to him privately on […]Full Story... →
Now hold on now. Don’t get too excited or ahead of yourself. If you’ve already started to comment, stop.
I don’t mean motherfucker in the way you may think I do. There are several meanings based on context and connotations that you can apply to the term motherfucker.
For instance, I might say to you “fuck you, you motherfucker. i hate your stupid ass”. Connotation and meaning in this particular instance is – obviously – negative.
However, I might also say “what’s up motherfucker! i’ve not seen your stupid ass in forever!”. Connotation and meaning in this […]Full Story... →
I’ve been watching the story of the NRCC’s financial fuck up unfold through the day. This artcile in CQ seems to have the most details so far…
As a result of bad accounting and fraud, the National Republican Congressional Committee appears to have ended 2006 with $990,000 less than its balance sheet showed, and ended 2007 with $740,000 less than officials knew.
It turns out that the NRCC Treasurer, Christopher J. Ward, is also the treasurer for a bunch of other Republicans and GOP-related PACs.
And these are the guys who run on a platform of fiscal responsibility?

It looks like Ken is finally breaking out the mailing list from his failed gubernatorial campaign.
I got a recruiting email yesterday from Ken in his new role as Chairman of the Coalition for a Conservative Majority (CCM).
The CCM, in case you forgot, is the group Blackwell formed with disgraced congressman Tom Delay in order to organize grass-roots conservative activism to “battle the liberal shadow party” that controls our government.
It turns out Ken and Tom are going to be in Hilliard tonight trying to get sign up some new ‘conservative activists’ to help fight the liberals.

I’m all for preventing discrimination on the basis of disability and for providing equal access to government facilities, etc.
But this new bill just passed by the state senate seems a little bit kooky.
It basically changes existing laws to allow ‘persons with mobility impairments’ to get a license to shoot birds and deer from their car.
I’m sure Dick Cheney would disagree, but one could really make a good argument that this is not really hunting. The folks at dictionary.com seem to agree…

But that’s not the point […]Full Story... →
A new WSJ/NBC survey reveals some interesting things about the presidential candidates and their approval ratings…
Obama’s approval rating is high: 51% positive- with only 28% negative.
McCain’s numbers are similiar: 47% positive, 27% negative.
But Hillary Clinton’s negatives are huge: 43% (48% positive).
Funny thing: Bill Clinton’s negatives are now even higher than that, up to a whopping 45% – a ten point gain since a year ago. (you can count me in this group)
He’s got 32% positive and 63% negative– easily crushing the competition.
The Democrats need to get this primary election finished […]Full Story... →

It’s not often that two things I’m fairly well addicted to converge, but this might be it. I love politics – can’t stay away from it no matter how hard I try. This should be fairly well known to those who have been reading PB over the course of the last 2 1/2 years. I also love college basketball. Not quite as evident, but I probably hinted at it. If you’ve read the about page here then you know that I was born in Louisville, Kentucky and grew up just south of there. There are 3 things in […]Full Story... →
I will never forget this. I guess I had played this song once and my oldest (now 9, then 3) must have taken it in pretty good. One day in preschool we were talking to her teacher and Chloe was singing. Darren stopped in mid-conversation, looked at Holly and I with huge eyes and said “Wait, is she singing Buffalo Soldier?”. We laughed and said we guessed so. Got a big kick out of it. She would walk around just singing the “woy yoy yoy, woy yoy-yoy yoy” part. LOL.
…both girls are now bugging me to replace the […]Full Story... →
