As Obama and Clinton fight to differentiate themselves in the eyes of Ohio’s Democratic voters- the topic of health care plans keeps coming up- just like it did during the 2006 race for Ohio Governor.

And, just like the 2006 Gubernatorial race, the differentiating factor with these health care plans is whether or not to mandate coverage for all citizens.

Hillary Clinton would like to implement mandated health care coverage for all US citizens while Barack Obama prefers a program that makes coverage more affordable but still voluntary.

It 2006 it was Ted who was proposing “affordable coverage on a […]

This NAFTA issue must be hounding them. I got this in the mail today:

“Hillary Clinton is in big trouble,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “As […]

I was reading about the ongoing controversy about why Hillary Clinton will not release her tax returns. Something her opponent – and Plunderbund endorsed candidate – Barack Obama had already done. There was something very familiar about the entire episode and then I remembered! Kenneth J. Blackwell. Ted Strickland.

…it was all coming back to me.

In the summer of 2006 I was blogging quite furiously over the Ohio Governor’s race. It seemed there was a […]

Today In Black Senate History

On February 25, 2008 By

On this day in 1870, Hiram Rhodes Revels was sworn in to the U.S. Senate, becoming the first African American ever to sit in Congress.

138 years later, only four other African Americans have served in the US Senate- the most recent being Barack Obama. It seems like we should have a made a little more progress in this time, no?

Well- hopefully this year we can make up some ground.

Hopefully, by this time next year, we’ll have our first black president.
